Hey, I came here to report a bug on Repetition of Time with SDLPoP, and it's exactly this one (on level 7, you HAVE to go through a closed door in order to move to level 8), but indeed the archive on popot.org uses SDLPoP 1.17 and not the latest release. Should the mod author (or the people maintaining it) be notified to update the mod archive to use 1.20 instead?

It happens to most of people you can see the comments I have a solution which I uses when you go through the level and stand in front of the closed door that you should walk through remember the remaining time for you and quicksave then close the SDLPoP and search SDLPoP.ini (use a text editor to open and edit it) file just around it and look for the setting of shift+L in non-cheat mode and instead of 5 mins write the remaining time you got and save then get back to the game and quickload then press shift+L it looks a little like cheating but it is a way to solve the problem and the problem in my opinion is just a confusing moment inside the mechanics of the game while passing through the closed gate between room 12 and room 14 because nothing of this happens in the dos version.

Thanks, in the end I chose to launch "ROT_SDLPOP megahit 8" and adjust to my real time and hit points with the cheat keys ;)
But I think it could be a good thing to update the SDLPoP version used in ROT, if that's possible.

Yes good other solution but I do not like using cheat keys that is why I gave you my solution

Are you sure you're describing a bug.
Repetition of Time is a special mod that contains unique visual trickery.

What he said is right maybe it does not work for everyone but for me as well and in popt some comments are saying the same thing.
it happens at the last step in the level 7 for some reason even if I do every thing like the walkthrough video I even tried to go again through that fake closed gate agin in the new "reality" like davidxnewton said but still I can't go through the closed exit as it should happen but in DOS this works perfectly

Of course, the stumbling tour made me want to try this mod :D
And in my initial post I linked to a topic on this forum discussing the fact that we couldn't exit through a closed door with SDLPoP 1.17 ;) I'd like to test it with SDLPoP 1.20 but I don't know how to do this (or if I can do this just by replacing the files).

Okay, I'll upgrade SDLPoP inside that mod's package to 1.20 this weekend.

Sorry to bother you again :oops: I downloaded the updated version and it looks like level 2 of RoT is now using the Dungeon assets instead of Palace.

That means, PRINCE.EXE is problematic. Because, by default Level 2 is Dungeon instead of Palace.

That's strange. I downloaded it from here, and for me ROT_SDLPOP.EXE starts with 180 minutes, and level 2 is palace.
What are we doing differently?

What do you mean by "extract it again on another installation"?
Did you extract it into an empty folder?

By the way, the non-default settings come from SDLPoP.ini.

For me, everything works fine.
Both ROT_DOS.EXE and ROT_SDLPOP.EXE show 180 minutes, and level 2 palace.

I'm guessing that maybe you are looking in apoplexy, which searches for PRINCE.EXE.
If you copy ROT_DOS.EXE to PRINCE.EXE then apoplexy also understands the changes.
Or you are playing through Total Pack, or something like that.
