Mirages Of Persia (NEW!)

Post by Moscow Tracer »

Hello everyone.
Finally it happens – I finished my new MOD – MIRAGES OF PERSIA and I’m glad to share it with all!
What should you know about it before playing?

• This levelset is not for beginners. It’s for expert players knows game mechanics, have enough gameplaying skills and patience.
• First 11 levels I made in Roomshaker. For making 2 last levels (12a and 12b) I used Apoplexy.
• Life potions obtaining (traditionally:)) very difficult, long and tricky. In the same time, some of them necessary for playing level 7 comfortable.
• Levelset called «Mirages of Persia» because of some fake objects like «mirage» spikes, loose tiles, raise or drop buttons and even gates. It’s maybe annoying to define which ones of them are fake but really not so difficult if you know what do you want and which way to follow. If you not sure fake something or not, I’d recommend you count it as real, until it’s "fakeness" not crucial for level solution.
• Of course you should waste many-many attempts to complete each level. So I want you be ready to do it and thank you for patience and understanding:) I tried make my MOD difficult and interesting and I think I managed to this challenge as one of the best players. Now you can try to complete probably toughest levelset you ever played such as “Anything is possible” by Hanswurst or “Arabian Nightmares” by Butcher.

http://depositfiles.com/files/ber6sylt7 Here is Levels.dat file (in separate folder) which you can rename and add to you “custom” folder in Total Pack (u can also add enough time in the cheat mode); and full version with 300 minutes left starting time and 2 life HP. Savegames works since level 2, Shift+L mode denied from level 10.
• I’m ready to record each level walkthrough and LP obtaining solutions, but not in the short time. Also, I’m ready answer to all questions and help with hints.
• Levels names and screenshots:

1 – «Take it later»

2 – «Gate Machine»

3 – «Death Portal»

4 – «Meet your dark friend»

Hey, glad to see that apoplexy was also used. ;)
I'll add your mod to popot.org next week.
Hopefully, I'll have time to try out some levels, it looks interesting.
Hope you don't mind I tried diffpop on your prince.exe file (result here).

After about two and a half hours of failure, I managed to finish Level 1 without getting the life potion.
Difficulty: Insane

In the beginning I was getting an "Arabian Nightmare" vibe from this mod urging me to quit, but then I luckily grew out of that mindset and started perceiving it as one of AuraDragon's mods. Thank you and I hope others will be enjoying this intricate maze of doom as much as I am! :)

Kaslghnoon, it's sad that you didn't like it. It's really difficult and long even for me=)
But it's not similar to "Arabian Nightmares", my levels are diverse and based on different ideas, not just open hundred gates and overcome million spikes)
I hope u'll try other levels from time to time.
And my next MOD will be much easier.

All in all, Kaslghnoon did like it: "I hope others will be enjoying this [...] as much as I am"
Kaslghnoon just thought it - the first level - was insanely difficult. :)

Dude I love it! :) In my first hour of attempt I was starting to think that it was one of those hateful mods like Arabian Nightmares but not anymore after I finished the first level. I know this is nothing like Arabian Nightmares. I only mentioned my experience to encourage everyone else to give it a chance despite the craziness with the spikes. This mod is nothing like Arabian Nightmares, it's unique.

I am enjoying the mod despite the difficulty because the level design is intelligent and makes sense. I now know how to obtain the life potions in both levels 1 and 2.

Hi guys!)

It's pretty sad to see very low activity on this forum(

How is your progress in "Mirages of Persia"? Does anybody completed several levels or maybe whole levelset? Is it so difficult for you or quite playable?

Ok, guys, if u need some hints or video solutions of levels completing or potions obtaining - just let me know.

I just noticed this topic and after seeing the screens i claim that it's pretty interesting mod! After return from vacation (leaving tonight) i'll for sure try it. ;)
Also, invite you to try my approaching mod (Son of the Vizier) when it'll be done. :)

EDIT:

Hm, i tried to download it now, but when i chose free downloading, i see "Such file does not exist or it has been removed for infringement of copyrights". :< Could you repair that?

Thanks.
Now I'm going to travel until 8th of August. After that I'm ready to answer to all of your questions about all levels solutions and potion obtainings (maybe except of level 10, it's extremely tough even for me and I'm not sure that I capable obtain LP on lvl10 in short time)) and I can record videos with some crazy action of my crazy MOD)

Hello, guys)

How are you doing? Unfortunatelly, I have no much time for making new MODs and even recording new vids.. But I'm planning record more hanswurst levels solutions, more crazy Arabian Nightmares travels and of course my MOD complete walkthrough with all life potions (some doubts in level 10, but it's almost impossible)).

I re-uploaded my MOD, link is here

http://depositfiles.com/files/ber6sylt7

In the end of November I'll record Level 1 walkthrough in 3 variations - without obtaining LP, with obtaining LP, and awesome shortcut version discovered by Kaslghnoon (no LP and no sword obtaining)).

Here is my Youtube channel, just subscribe and have fun=)

I completed levels 1-5, skipped 6, got half-way through 7 then skipped 7. I have spent over 4 hours total in attempt to figure out how to advance in the beginning of level 8, and no success. I gave up on this mod in awe of its difficulty. I doubt that anyone other than yourself has the gameplay skill to endure the complexity of the later levels.
