Hello everybody, here is me making another informal comeback to present you my newest complete levelset for POP1 that I made in the last two weeks, named Xenyv Was Trapped


The little story is as follows:

In this realm, the princess' name is Xenyv. She was trapped by the sultan's younger sibling, Faffar (yes, not Jaffar) and will be forced to marry him should the prince not reach in time to prevent it. Our hero was sent to a prison, where it is known that one of Faffar's minions, who once tried to seduce the princess under his radar, was also sent to rot in the same place. Little does our Prince know that he isn't completely alone in his journey, but he must prevail, for Xenyv to become free... and his wife, of course.

This is a full set of 15 levels with classic-oriented gameplay and a difficulty probably just a notch harder than the original game. It should be theoretically accessible to any skills. A few of the easier and most common special tricks are gonna prove useful (necessary) in places, nonetheless. Many of the levels have two paths to choose to reach the exit. I hope that gives replay value to players. You get 60 minutes, which is more than enough but wasting too much time is penalized of course so, be mindful.

Comes with a text file with more general info. I will upload to popot not this weekend but the next one. In the meantime, I might or might not make adjustments here and there, but the mod is pretty much in potential final state. Please leave your honest thoughts down below, or in popot whenever it is up there. There is a chance, that another more experimental mod will happen in the near future...

Looks polished.

I see you posted some extensive mod reviews recently too, that you also clearly put work into.

Out of mere curiosity I fired up my mod in SDLPoP and, levels run fine apparently (I mean why wouldn't they), though some custom text isn't shown. I'm not sure if there are special settings somewhere for them to appear, at least I haven't found any in the menu. I believe for now, until I find more info, I'll suggest using DOSbox since it is what I typically default too and add a short disclaimer for sdlpop users in the text file.

DOSBox is recommended for the intended experience. For SDLPoP players, keep mod customizations on and copy-protection level set before level 2. Still some custom text messages aren't supported yet so they won't be shown but you should be alright nonetheless (I haven't checked in MININIM).
