The author has clearly told NOT to play in SDLPoP then how do you expect everything would work? Similar to how I told you not to play in SDLPoP.

What's the difference between playing DOSBox or SDLPoP? All the same.

I can't make a level 5 map...

Probably the many gates in room 23 result in the "BackTable Overflow".
A workaround is to press, and hold down, Enter for a while.
Or open the level in apoplexy and press "m" for the Map window.
