Re: PoP videos / images
A video about bad endings in various PoP versions, with commentary.
I didn't know the SNES version lets you continue the game after the time expired.
You have to work even for the bad ending!
Oh yeah, and there is a link to another PoP video in the description.

Re: PoP videos / images
Spanish video about PoP history.
Re: PoP videos / images
And I see he also released another 'stumbling through' PoP video recently.
The old video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrxk_VaSm6E
The new video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5E9MLSW5Iw

I've watched both now, to see if they have anything interesting.Norbert wrote: ↑June 29th, 2019, 2:11 pm And I see he also released another 'stumbling through' PoP video recently.

The new video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5E9MLSW5Iw
Here are some of the notable stuff:
In the old video:
3:23 He pronounces Broderbund as "B-R-zero-derbund".
4:03 Apple II: "many of his guards are Smurfs"

He's referring to the guards with blue face.
9:55 Game Boy: The skeleton was replaced with a guard's ghost?? I didn't know that!

But that explains why is this buried in the GBC ROM.
26:39 Sega CD: Pronunciation of Jaffar's name.
42:20 Commodore 64: Note how the torches disappear when the loose floors land.
In the new video:
26:31 ZX Spectrum: guards disappear near chompers.
27:00 ZX Spectrum: Unpressable floor button.
46:36 SDLPoP: "started by another David, who runs the Prince of Persia Original Trilogy forums(?) at popot.org"
Well, no, PoPOT is not my site, but Norbert's.

Maybe someone should tell him?
Re: PoP videos / images
Not that I know of...
I've always seen just the skeleton, both when creating legbop and just now (see attachment).
[Edit: Actually, maybe that's one way in which the color and non-color versions differ then?]
Well, the Community Forum page at PoPOT says "We use the Princed forum.", and you and Falcury kind of 'run' the Princed forum, so I can see where he's coming from.

Re: PoP videos / images
Yes, the ghost guard appears only in the b/w version.
You can see it in action here: https://youtu.be/thAmYGc37pA?t=676
I wonder why did they do this. Maybe the ROM was full and there was no space for the skeleton's graphics?
And so they used the same trick that Mechner used in a similar case on the Apple II: They reused existing images with a simple transformation.
Jaffar is also different between the color and the b/w versions.
In the b/w version, he's just a palette swap of the regular guards: compare the maps of level 1 and level 12.
While in the color version, he has his own sprites, animated noticeably differently from the other guards: https://youtu.be/Sb8OYPZoHRM?t=2409
