YouTube and Vimeo have videos of several songs converted to major (Wikipedia info), and some of these are interesting to hear. Simply search for "in major" or "in major key" (with quotes) and then pick songs you know.
[Edit: And, of course, the reverse, by searching for "in minor" or "in minor key".]

It is a general feeling, but it is not true. There are really sad songs in major key and happy ones in minor. ''Kiss Me Baby'' by The Beach Boys is in E-flat Major and it sounds depressive. ''Summer Night City'' by ABBA is in D minor and it's exuberant.
