Probably Norbert or David or Falcury will help you. Sorry friend.
I looked into this.
I used these videos for comparison:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmHCa0HIDAY -- Here, the loose floor falls.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWbsFmgJj8M -- Here, the loose floor does not fall.
For starters, the loose floor in question is in room 8, and it's dropped by the blue potion in room 24.
Now, if you look at the
blue potion flowchart, it says that a non-button tile in room 8 is triggered only if event 1 is not stuck.
(Event 1 triggers the top-left gate in room 16.)
The question is, how might event 1 be stuck?
I found these buttons with event 1:
1. The opener in room 23. A loose floor fell on it in both videos. This makes the event stuck.
2. The closer in room 24. It is stuck in both videos. The prince presses it when he climbs up, and at that point there is a gate slam sound in both videos.
3. The opener in room 24. It is stuck in both videos. There is a gate opening sound in both videos when the it's pressed.
I tried reproducing the above button events (although I had to edit the level to make testing easier).
The result is that the loose floor won't fall if (and only if) I break the opener in room 23.
So my question is now the opposite of the original: Why does the loose floor fall in the video where it *does* fall?
Another thing of note:
In my experiments, there was a loose floor sound after I drank the blue potion.
But in the videos, there is only a gate slam sound when the prince drinks the blue potion.
There is no loose floor sound, even if the loose floor falls.
So that's all. I couldn't yet find an explanation, but what I found might help.
