Re: PoP videos / images
This tactic I learned early enough. Especially with Jaffar. I found out that shift-up could kill him without necessarily going through the multi-sword clash.Norbert wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 11:02 pm It's weird to me that so few amateur PoP players understand that, generally, you can simply do Shift-up-Shift-up-etc. to kill guards.
For example, YouTuber "Rainwarrior's Sidechain" has played PoP for many hours, various ports, and after 4+ hours of playing the SNES port, he is still doing only up-Shift and nothing else.
I know that when I was a young kid, I got the Shift-up-Shift-up-etc. rhythm even though I could not finish the game.

Here, what is that brown thing? Is that supposed to be the mouse sent by the princess?Norbert wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2019, 11:19 pm Er, PoP related, I guess.

The mouse appears here again, although now its a lighter shade of brown.

This got 1000+ likes, for some reason.
The text (machine-)translates as "Wow, I think I'll overdo it and come back too..."
Maybe the joke is that prince overused the Dagger of Time and travelled through time from The Sands of Time to PoP1 for DOS.

According to this tweet, the file ARCHES.BMP (attached to this post as PNG), that was available as one of the Windows 3.x wallpaper images (repeated on the screen as a 'tile'), was inspired by PoP.

It sounds better with the verbs in past tense: "Wow, I think I overdid it and came back too much..."
Like on the "old meets new prince" picture?

Well, they are somewhat reminiscent of the arches on the palace levels, and the balcony on level 6.
I've seen the picture before (I have Windows 3.1 installed within DOSBox), but I'm not sure if I've noticed the similarity then.
