I have just released (version 0.9 of) savof.

It is a tool that allows you to create, view and modify Prince of Persia for DOS save (PRINCE.SAV) and hall of fame (PRINCE.HOF) files.

You can download it for Windows and for GNU/Linux.



Other SAV and HOF editors already existed, but these are all for DOS, and I couldn't find their source code either.

If you press Ctrl+g while playing, you will see "GAME SAVED" and it saves your progress to PRINCE.SAV.
If you then press Ctrl+l during the title sequence (intro) of the game, it will load PRINCE.SAV.
The top portion of this savof tool allows you to freely modify PRINCE.SAV.

At the end of the title sequence (intro) of the game, you will see a list of best players.
When you finish the game, you may have also seen this list.
The game saves that winners list to PRINCE.HOF.
The bottom portion of this savof tool allows you to freely modify PRINCE.HOF.

I just noticed that there is a (closed source) graphical SAV-only editor that uses .NET; mentioned here (and now also added here).

Interesting, could be possible modify prince stats each level like life points, or other??
