About two weeks ago (December 31, 2021), josiasdv added 5 new mods to PoPOT.

All tagged with "conversion", so probably levels from other ports recreated for DOS.
If someone feels like playing the mods, probably josiasdv would welcome feedback.

It was like mods spammed to PoPOT :D
I'll try a couple of them if I get time.
Edit: The mods do look good... I'll try to stream them :)

I've had a quick look at them. Those are the levels that have been recreated:

Meshabh:
Level 1 is a recreation of: SNES Level 1
Level 2 is a recreation of: SNES Level 2
Level 3 is a recreation of: SNES Level 3
Level 4 is a recreation of: SNES Level 5
Level 5 is a recreation of: SNES Level 7
Level 6 is a recreation of: SNES Level 9 (all guards are fat)
Level 7 is a recreation of: SNES Level 12 (boss: guard)
Level 8 is a recreation of: SNES Level 13
Level 9 is a recreation of: SNES Level 14
Level 10 is a recreation of: SNES Level 20 (boss: Jaffar)

(Levels 11, 12a, 12b and 13 are unmodified.)

Naheemsan:
Level 1 is a recreation of: SNES Level 4
Level 2 is a recreation of: SNES Level 6 (boss: guard)
Level 3 is a recreation of: SNES Level 8
Level 4 is a recreation of: SNES Level 10
Level 5 is a recreation of: SNES Level 11
Level 6 is a recreation of: SNES Level 15 (without the passage leading to shadow)

I think it's Megadrive Level 12.

The last two rooms are the Gameboy/GBC/NES Menu level. (This is mentioned in the readme.)
It's closest to the GBC version, because there are no walls in the top row.

You can also look at the demo levels of these mods.
In Meshabh, Nahemsan, The Sequel, and The Sultan Seven, the demo level is one of the other levels, with a different starting position.
The Lost Levels keeps the original demo level.

Thanks again - I didn't look at the readme, just fired up DOSBox straight away. :oops:

Thanks, I was wondering what was going on there. Level 12 seems a bit glitchy to me: frequently, the shadow is totally invisible until I hit him:

...and when this is the case, merging with him without hitting him first results in me falling to the room below, with no way to exit the level:

And while I love the fact that speed has been increased to be closer to the SNES version, time's also running out more quickly.

So glad you all tried out the mods.

Amethyst, I did have trouble with Nahemsan Level 12 shadow placement. I ended up using these settings:

4=freefall seemed to give me the most consistent results after a bunch of testing but I admit it's not perfect. :(

Spoilers:
- These are all the levels from PoP 2, The Shadow and The Flame
- Robert's mod seems to be the IR version of PoP 2 so I made the 1.0/1.1 changes
- I loved Robert's idea of using level 2 as the potion level but made it easier
- 75 minutes and max 10 life
- Press the version key (ctrl+v) to see the Title Text
- Intro contains GameName.bmp change
- Game Texts also changed using some of the PoP2 Text
- Demo level changed
- Graphics kept original because I love the original look
- Speed is adjusted to try to be more like SNES/Super Famicom
- Empty spaces may represent lava/endless depths
- Other changes from Robert's mod: multiple exit doors, always sword, skeleton wake-up placement,
gate switch fixes, room links to free up rooms/help with graphics, Jaffar death is now required

All levels were created/modified with Apoplexy, CusPop, RoomShaker, PR, and GIMP

Well, I'm very glad that you created them :D I've wanted to play e.g. the "bonus" levels of the European Megadrive version for quite some time... but not in that version.

Two things I noticed: in Nahemsan's Level 8, leaving this room to the right results in the kid dying (empty room?).

The same happens after falling a couple of screens when leaving this room to the left in The Lost Levels' Level 4.

Amethyst, thanks for the feedback. That Nahemsan's Level 8 room now has sort of a wraparound left to right just like the Repetition of Time Mod's Two Towers level. Good call. The original SNES level simply doesn't allow you to move more than the two tile vertical column.

For the Lost Levels level 4 issue, I made a little tribute to the GBC Language select room although German and French doors are removed because they glitch the DOS graphics. You have probably already played some of the other Playable demo level mods. These have some neat ideas. viewtopic.php?f=68&t=3113&p=10960&hilit ... vel#p10960

In rechecking the issue with the Nahemsan shadow level, I noticed that I use DOSBox CPU cycles at 8000 and sure enough when I lowered it enough it became more glitchy. I included something in the readme about this but yeah, I can't think of a solution currently.

New updates:

I was able to change Meshabh mod level 4 to show the shadow running away from the mirror using this new hack from David:

The Lost Levels mod level 2 also has a shadow jumping out of the mirror event but I chose to keep the creepiness of the shadow just standing there

Also, The Lost Levels mod level 2 now has a hack from David shown in 2015:

I had thought it would mess up some events in other levels but it does not, yay!

New update:

I was finally brave enough to try this hex editor viewtopic.php?f=76&t=3382
to change the text in the potion/copyright level in The Sequel mod. I had been using F12 to make small changes in Apoplexy.

Update:

SDLPoP 1.22 support added to each mod using a custom PRINCE.DAT to add custom level colors.
(viewtopic.php?f=67&t=4455&start=105)
Of course, just delete the PRINCE.DAT in the SDLPoP mod folder for default level colors.

VelCheran helped me with a Teleports SDLPoP compilation for Nahemsan mod's Warp/Teleport level. :D
