This is another package of custom music in SDLPoP. Additionally I've also included a few of my old mods that are compatible matches to the current SDLPoP (1.18RC) based on my current understanding - using mod.ini and other detailed instructions in David's Readme.
To play mods, simply use the batch/.BAT files. The original game has a slightly changed SDLPoP.ini so you can skip levels and listen to the various tracks including Out of Time.ogg
My mods however has the time limit disabled. For new/casual players I would like them to enjoy these mods without time pressure and can perhaps quicksave at areas they suspect might easily die.
- Combat & Adventures only has Levels.dat inside the mods folder as this was my 1st mod back in 2009 with only changed level designs and also I wanted to avoid using Brain's SNES graphics after encountering this viewtopic.php?f=126&t=4174
- Battle Hardened 2 & 3 has the necessary files inside the mods folder to reduce overall file size but to still properly work visually.
Mediafire link - SDLPoP KJ_minipack
(I'm unable to use attachment here as the forum notifies the file is too big. This file is 12.9mb)
The Chrono Trigger custom music pack is 21.6mb - first music pack viewtopic.php?f=126&t=4098
Music is from various games like Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 NES, Mario NES & Game Boy, Contra, Power Rangers SNES and Aladdin Genesis.
Nearly similar to viewtopic.php?f=73&t=3989#p20718 but at that time I had a lot of trouble when changing DOS music and probably I can't find suitable music for Soundblaster even if they can be edited into the DOS package.
As for now, the INI file hasn't implemented support to adjust special events, so I can't include SNES Level 15, PoP Split Levels and Nazaam's Revolt that had their winning special event customized in CusPoP.
There is also a bug where the ending is blank if you start immediately in the winning room in Level 14. Mentioned in viewtopic.php?f=126&t=4173
This issue occurred in Battle Hardened 1 and thus is absent from the pack.
I was attempting to add SNES remnants (mod 0000149) but it totally couldn't start in SDLPoP. However what I did was copy the entire 0000149 into the mods folder, and leaving all files intact. Maybe perhaps I need to remove some DAT files until it can work?
SDLPoP - 2nd Custom Music pack + re-release of old mods
Re: SDLPoP - 2nd Custom Music pack + re-release of old mods
Hm, strange, it works for me.
Maybe a typo, that you tried 'mod 000149' instead of 'mod 0000149'?
It might be useful if you could write down what exactly you're doing and what the result is.
Because, for example, maybe the program should give you a warning or error if you're trying something that doesn't work - if it's not giving you any feedback.
In fact, Falcury, when I do "prince -mod 123" even though there's no 123, I suggest the program give back a warning on the console.
I haven't checked what the source is doing, but it appears to just start regular PoP1 without any warning.
Re: SDLPoP - 2nd Custom Music pack + re-release of old mods
Initially I copied the whole mod 0000149 after unzipping into the mod folder. Then I started it with the batch file with "prince.exe mod 0000149".
The result is However I'm using Windows XP
Anyway I started moving around the DAT files until I found the problem seemed to be the Titles.dat
It works fine by removing the titles file. But the error message will pop up again when it's re-added.

Re: SDLPoP - 2nd Custom Music pack + re-release of old mods
For me, it also doesn't give an error. Strange.
Does prince.exe output any messages to the console, if you run it from the command-line?

Re: SDLPoP - 2nd Custom Music pack + re-release of old mods
Same with cmd.
Maybe my wild guess is that this is happening in Windows XP for now...

Re: SDLPoP - 2nd Custom Music pack + re-release of old mods
Recently discovered the tunes in the "minipack" had a playback problem in VLC and basically do not play.
The music somehow worked for the older SDLPoP versions before 1.18RC but not for the newer 1.18.1.
The problem somehow was using the aconvert website, causing the OGG file errors, and I've used another more reliable online converter.
I've updated the packages and will mention this in viewtopic.php?f=126&t=4098
