PoP Mod (Dos): Battle Hardened 3

Phew! I've just discovered that the homepage forum.princed.org is back to normal and accessible (our beloved forum was perhaps hacked and the homepage broken around March/April). I hope the majority of members would slowly know this and return to the forum.

Anyway back to the topic concerned, this mod is the direct sequel to Battle Hardened with Vengeance, Battle Hardened 2. FYI, for those familiar with the Battle Hardened 2 mod, the villain fought in Level 3 (not a skeleton) is now the main villain. A story will be prominently featured in both intro and its ending (being a fan of some movies like Christopher Nolan's) I can't resist creating something with PR ;)
I'm also thinking of making light changes to the guards with PR. Probably PR will be used to experiment on most of the characters in the game, like maybe - having the fat guards having 7 different palettes with changes to Guard.dat.
Level designs I'm not sure yet, as I would need to prepare for my finals as a student. But I would resume this little project by hopefully middle of May or June. So it's not ready yet but its coming, soon...

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay on work of this mod. I have been busy, not having much time being occupied with my job and not able to think well to create good quality levels.
Anyway after some 'playing around' with PR, I've managed to create some characters for this new chapter in Battle Hardened.

"I'm back!!" but a zombie-like Jaffar...

Battle Hardened III will be the last instalment in this series of mods. The story would be roughly - The Clone that was defeated in Battle Hardened 2, comes back after climbing out of the pit the Prince pushed him into. Jaffar makes a return from beyond the grave for his own last battle with the Prince.

I'm trying as much as possible, aiming to make most of the levels trickier and interesting compared to Battle Hardened with Vengeance, so sorry for the delay. I've managed to complete the first few levels and I need to edit the titles as well. Regards KJ

Hi everybody,

Sorry for the long wait for this mod. After on-off work to the levels construction, it's finally finished.

This mod is intended to conclude this trilogy of mods story-wise, thanks to PR and Enrique Calot for making that possible. :)
Battle Hardened III is definitely no Persian Nightmares, Extreme Levels or Mirages of Persia, I don't have the expert capabilities to create those level types. It should be quite easy for experts and interesting for average players. Experts may find more challenge attempting speedrun to set record times. However, it is trickier now compared to Battle Hardened 2.
My playthrough took about 2 hours if I don't die once although I set 170 minutes for those who don't mind 'long-play', playing through in single sitting.

There are a few crucial things to take note. There is a file "IMPORTANT.txt", which addresses a few issues that may crop up, notably Level 6 and 12a.
Just remember to press CTRL+A each time anything happens in these levels

These are a few things taken from "CREDITS, ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.txt".

Roomshaker as usual used for level designs
Cuspop is downloaded from popot.org (Thanks Norbert)
Time: 170 minutes
Prince.exe: Version 1.0
Savegames enabled from Level 2 to Level 14
Recommended to save at Level 14 in case you die
PR 1.1, downloaded from popot.org
PR used for story, change of characters, etc.

Your mod may be harder than you think. :P
Not making a single mistake in levels where you only have 1 hp all the time isn't easy.

Yea I'm a little sorry if it was repetitive in a few sections as well as tough in a few parts.

If you like, you can also download my earlier mods, which may be simpler than BH3.
Battle Hardened 2: Battle Hardened with Vengeance (2011) (I based Battle Hardened 3 a lot from this mod)
Battle Hardened (2010) (It's a simpler mod with not much puzzles but rather crazy sword-fighting)
Combat & Adventures (2009) (my first mod, no story and the first one I introduced the idea of fighting healthy enemies with just 1hp)

I had to recently reformat my hard-disk and I lost my Cuspop (Butcher's version) and PR, and I couldn't find them anywhere else until I saw them available in your site. So thanks Norbert :)

I've started adding one new mod a week, every Saturday (sorta).
So sooner or later, I'll check out these other ones.

Level 1 with long and short way and getting LP

Level 2, but i can make 20-30 sec faster

There were a few issues after looking thru my whole mod here. So I've made a few slight changes
First of all, I've fixed Level 12a by adding a few spikes in case you continued running after the shadow got spiked.
Before I begun creating this mod, I already intended in mind to have a max of 10 lives. But unfortunately I didn't realise that Level 6 prevented this. So I've relocated the life potion away from Level 6. Unfortunately I still cannot do much with Level 6 without taking away an important puzzle involving the shadow. (Not falling from room 1 is the probable cause of the exit door bug.

Level 3 was too hard for me so I turned it over to my more experienced brother.
We’re still stuck in Level 3.
That last Jaffar zombie (the skill level 7 guy) is hard!

Ps. Is there Way to play with the music like the music in the YouTube videos?
