I did. I've now removed that text. I'll add it as a separate trick later today.

I'm not able to replicate the trick yet... I think it definitely needs good explanation for any beginner to follow. Hope you would do that!

Edit: Not too difficult. Took 10 tries, first worked in DOSBox. Also works if the gate is not in the other room.

Cool! Definitely a new trick, need to press left and down, I don't really know how, but somehow and sometimes works.

We (the speedrun community) are very interested in this new trick as it would be a major time saving on level 10, but it looks like there's some randomness in it, because it depends on the guard reaction. But if we could find a way to remove that randomness it would be awesome

No, it's similar to the one done on the right side. Just that you have to hit the guard towards the gate, then shift places and most likely it's not the perfect distance, so shift places again and shift places again and after you get the perfect distance wait for the guard to hit you and then press left and down and you will be through the gate.

By the way, I think it also works without the hit. It's just that you need perfect distance and perfect key presses at right time.

Did it take many tries, and how do you know the right time to jump, and the right distance?

It took 15-20 attempts. I kept track of the time before the jump on the stopwatch!

That is really amazing! I was expecting 141 to be performed, but you found another trick, that's really great.

I think you can also somewhat keep track of the music and jump at right time, I'm gonna try now.

Edit: I tried 20 times, I could only do once, I think there's just that one tick that works, rest all fail. You need to be in the air, just few pixels above the spikes when the music end for this to work. And the correct position is the same where you are after you drink the potion using a simple SHIFT.

Hah, maybe YURA would do? He's excellent at doing this trick (at least). I could only do it once after trying so many times. Another problem was SDLPoP doesn't have Quicksave during float state, otherwise we could have Quicksaved, and tried. If it fails: Quickload, Quicksave and try again, and keep doing this until you find the trick. And also record P1R file, so after doing all these activities, we get to know the exact timing to wait, so we can perform this trick later without Quicksaving (well, hopefully!).

By the way, were you trying it in DOSBox or SDLPoP? I only tried it in SDLPoP. I don't know about DOSBox.
