Interestingly, if you don't do the 'test' step forward, it doesn't work.

As known, this is usable in level 7 of the original game, by simply bumping into the wall in room 24, and then making the running jump.

After I revive in this video (with "r"), the prince survives the landing.
Maybe this means that if he lands at a certain angle near the room edge, he can survive?

"R" will keep reviving the prince for 20 frames.
Look for "resurrect_time" in the source.
I recreated the situation seen in the video, and the time between you press R and when the kid lands is about 15 frames.

I've already mentioned this temporary invincibility here, although there it happened after the prince was stabbed by a guard.
This is the first time I see this effect after the prince died from falling.

The room edge is irrelevant.
For example: On level 12, place a loose floor in room 1, top row, column 5, turned left.
Then place the starting position to room 7, top row, column 6.
You can the same thing here.

Or you can try this on the original level 11: Place the starting position in room 8, bottom row, column 7, turned left.
Run once to the left. When the prince dies, press R. The prince will land in the spikes unharmed!

I can't do that unless I put an empty tile into column 3 (bottom row of room 9).
I also tried positioning with SDLPoP's debug cheats ("[" and "]"), but I couldn't get the glitch to happen.
It seems that the prince just can't jump from the correct place if there is no edge between column 3 and 4.
