Death by Dark Shadows (1994)
I found this game in the same way as Tears of Fury.

Based on the video, the hero is a black panther who can (temporarily?) turn into human (when drinking or fighting).
(The review says he is a man turned into a panther.)
Both his human form and the enemies are based on PoP graphics.
The level's design and perspective is also reminiscent of PoP.
The game seems quite dark, both figuratively and literally.
The latter means that for example you can barely see the panther in front of the dark background.
