I've found another game that was "heavily inspired" by PoP.
Original Korean title: 복수무정 ~분노의 눈물~ (Boksu Mujeong: Bunno-ui Nunmul)
Translation: Tears of Fury
Links:
https://www.old-games.ru/game/8021.html -- A Russian site with a review,
a download,
screenshots and
a video.
http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/korea/ ... ksumujeong -- English description and more screenshots.
(Note: I found the game through the "recommended games" (Рекомендуемые игры) links under PoP here:
https://www.old-games.ru/game/62.html )
I haven't tried the game yet, but the hero looks very much like the Prince, just with blue clothes and brown hair. And he has a gun.

That Russian website provides the demo.
I'm attaching it to this post.

I think I finally figured out all the keys that can be used in this game.
This allowed me to complete the game.
I will post maps and level-specific notes later.
Esc = skip intro/cutscene
Ctrl+E = exit (quit)
(The game interprets this key combination quite loosely. If you press either Ctrl or E, and then the other key anytime later, the game quits.)
P = pause (and then frame advance)
S = sound on/off
F2 = save game (to TEAR.SAV)
F3 = load game
left/right = turn, run, jump off pole
up = kick, climb up a ledge, enter an open exit door
down = crouch
Home/Page Up = jump (A somersault, like in Runen.)
End/Page Down = roll and crouch
Space = Shoot. It takes ammo, or if you don't have any ammo then it takes from your *health*!
Enter = Use bomb. Kills all enemies on screen. (sometimes the screen flashes briefly)
Alt = use switch, grab pole, use key
down+Alt = pick up item
Ctrl+left/right = step/walk (you can't step off ledges)
Ctrl+up = spinning kick
Ctrl+down = kick jump

I will post maps and level-specific notes later.
Here they are:
Level 1:
Those diamond-shaped glowing things on the walls are triggers: if you touch any then a ray gun on the wall will shoot you.
The bottom-left room is where was stuck for a long time, until I found out that I can press buttons on the wall using Alt.
When you enter the exit, it will ask for a code.
You need to get the code from the computer in the top-right corner before you get to the exit.
The exit is in the top-left room. You need to shoot the yellow bouncing ball to open the gate that blocks your way.
The ball is not affected by the bomb (Enter). That would make it too easy...
End of level 1.
Level 2:
This level has some actual enemies, such as robots and dogs.
This time you get the three digits of the code separately, from three computers.
It seems the game doesn't allow me to climb up to just any ledge: Climbing up is possible only from the brown pads.
The room with the exit has a ledge without a pad below.
The bottom right room has a shooter that is constantly shooting. This makes it quite hard to get out of that place...
End of level 2.
This demo version has no more levels.
