Mechner uploaded the video to YouTube and most likely owns the copyright, but I don't see any reason why you can't embed the same on your blog. In any case no-one here has the right to tell you what to do since there's no official representation from either Mechner or Brøderbund/The Learning Company/Ubisoft.
Frankly I find it quite funny because nowadays who even bothers to ask for permission before embedding YouTube videos?
A huge amount of stuff uploaded to YouTube violates someone's copyright anyway.
