Thanks for your offer to help, atrue. Enrique (poirot; princed.org owner) has been in touch with me, and is already in the process of taking over popot.org. So, we should be good. :)

Norbert wrote: January 2nd, 2021, 10:04 pmAs planned earlier, I'll now further improve the website's source code, and then publish it as popot.org 3.0.
Now available as popot.org-3.0.tar.gz.
I've released version 4.0.
It is available at GitHub, here.

Hi.

When I want to visit popot.org today, I have to realize that this page is currently completely offline. It would be great if the popot owner says something about what's going on with this site and if he'll be online again?

There was a similar problem with popuw.com in the summer of 2008. This site was also offline and you were greeted with "404 Not Found". And amazingly, popuw.com was offline until 2011 (so about 3 years). I still can't say why this site was offline for so long.

12:12: Good news. popot.org is online again.

I've added forgot-password functionality.
https://www.popot.org/forgot.php
(Linked to from the Login page.)
To make password resets easier for both users and me.

Apparently the mail queue got stuck on 27 April.
I've fixed this issue (with a workaround).
Everything that happened on the website since then is now being sent to all users.
Sigh.

Something broke non-ASCII characters on popot.org's mod pages.

Compare the comments here with an archived version.

It also affects the title of this mod (and a few other mods), compare an archived version.
Mod titles on user profiles are affected as well.

In both cases, the non-ASCII characters are replaced with HTML named entities, with the bytes interpreted in the Windows-1252 encoding.
If you are using htmlentities then you should either specify the correct encoding (UTF-8), or use htmlspecialchars instead, which only replaces some ASCII characters.

Non-ASCII characters in mods.xml are broken in the same way, except here there are no HTML entities in the source.
