Just turned off "everything" (email notifier) for my account, disabled all the enabled notifiers for each mod and then turned "everything" notifier back again to clean up profile a bit...

I am experiencing that images are not cached for PoPOT. Is there any specific reason because of which you have explicitly turned it off Norbert?

That is making the website too slower to use, especially here in India, where there are not too good, stable and faster connections. You can cache the images and other content (actually trick videos too, as they are not updated again and again) by setting Cache-Control and other headers.

You can also look on using CloudFlare. They have the free plan and it's a great CDN (Content Delivery Network) with DDoS protection and free SSL certificate. I use them for all my projects and it's a good starter. With that, maybe you won't need more bandwidth (just in case you are charged too much for it).

Let me know if you have any queries and/or if you decide to use it.

Since early 24 August, various Dutch companies are experiencing DDoS attacks.
One news website has written about this.
PoPOT is on one of the many affected servers, and may experience downtime.

I'm curious why people don't use free tools like CloudFlare.

I don't trust big US companies. Last year, Cloudflare had $200M+ revenue. Using Cloudflare DDoS protection means putting them between the visitors and website, possibly including a new SSL certificate (see the one used by fbi.gov). Additionally, Cloudflare could decide to monetize data obtained from monitoring traffic.

Yeah, you are right in some way, but after all you have to secure your website (especially if you are earning revenue by keeping your website active) and save your website from DDoS (again, especially if you are using Apache and not nginx).

And yes, CloudFlare has such revenue because other businesses, who want more features pay them and I guess their expense for the paid features is almost negligible.

I don't think they monetize it, but they show us some analytics like which country is on the top from your visitors list, number of attacks blocked, how much data was served directly from it's servers, etc.

Also, you can block/challenge/JS challenge the IPs or the ranges of them. There are really great features and I think everyone should try it at least once.

But anyway, use whatever works for you :)

As you've seen, I've sent you a new password. It works for both accounts.
Deleting accounts is currently not possible, but it's one of the things I'm working on.

Currently, some mods at popot.org are attached to inactive accounts that are not actual user accounts.
Where possible, I would like to attach these mods to user accounts.

Two examples:
- user NITM-T and inactive account NITM-T (Tâmison)
- user atrueprincefanfrom2018 and inactive account Amogh Datar

To attach these mods to user accounts, I need to know:
1. Does the inactive account (e.g. Amogh Datar) have a user account (e.g. atrueprincefanfrom2018) ?
2. If so, which of the two account names does the mod author prefer to use ?

Inactive accounts that have mods attached are:
