Open Source Prince for DOS

Post by Nico »

Hi, For some time now I've been wanting to develop an open source Prince for DOS that will run on vintage computers like 8088 and up. I've been doing some basic coding using Borland C++ 3.1 but I need some help with the coding because I don't know much about game programming. If there is anyone interested in this project let me know and we'll see what we can do.

Bye!

I don't have too much of an idea about it, by why reinvent the wheel? Why not take something like FreePrince for example, understand what's already been accomplished, then use your expertise to clean up the code and extend it further to make it the perfect FOSS clone of PoP?

Yes, I tried to do what you are suggesting but I could not understand the Freeprince's code and I think that the people that developed it are no longer avaliable. If I could have someone to guide me into understanding the code I would certainly finish it.
