But there is a picodrive_libretro.info file in the RetroArch\info folder, so RetroArch somehow knows about it.

There are a couple more cores missing from the menu, like the PlayStation ones.
I think I found why are they missing: https://forums.libretro.com/t/missing-c ... list/14050
You didn’t provide any information about your system to know what could be amiss, but I’m going to take a wild guess and assume you’ve installed one of the msvc builds, which only have access to a few of the cores. You’ll need to download the regular Windows 64-bit bundle/installer instead.
I indeed downloaded an MSVC build, because all downloads for Windows XP are MSVC2010 builds.

The tooltip also tells that:
NOTE: While this version will also work for Vista and up, we highly recommend you use the other Windows version instead, as your core choice will be more limited with this version.
So yes, it indeed limits my core choice. I guess that's what I get for still using Windows XP. :|

The non-working Genesis Plus GX core was also an MSVC2010 build, while the working one is a MinGW build. (See the bug report.)
I guess RetroArch downloaded the MSVC2010 version because the installed RetroArch itself is a MSVC2010 build.

Rise from your Grave!

Sorry for the delay of my reply...

About the delay found in the controls of these 2 versions (Genesis and Mega Drive), unfortunatelly i still don't got fix it and i know that Retroarch now have a input delay fixer, BUT i really want to fix this in the game cause i play this in the real hardware with my EVERDRIVE. If we can found and fix the controllers, we can release a fix patch that with the amazing fade out/disable code (by david), the wrong potion positions like the one found in level 3 (they put a life potion instead of a health potion)
This Mega Drive/Genesis has amazing graphics and good sound (both based on MAC version) but the controls are a pain
Just in comparison: the SEGA CD/MEGA CD version was release 2 years earlier than the Genesis/Mega Drive has worse graphics (based on the PC-98 version), but plays A LOT better... :\

I returned to this thread to ask if you guys ever tried to document the cancelled MD version of PoP2?
The cancelled version of PoP2 plays and feels MUCH more accurate to the DOS PoP2 than the released GEN/MD PoP1 to the DOS...
If you guys make a documentation or even a level editor for it, i could try to make a PoP1 port over the unreleased PoP2...

OFF: I'm working with an improvement patch that fixes colors to look more accurate to the DOS version, some gfxs, change controller layout, Fix for the level 9 that was impossible to complete the level and even the music to sound less scratch and more accurate to the original even that the music was a bit unpolished. This version is far more accurate to the original than the released SNES version. Looks like this game was planned to be released in 1996 by TITUS, but was cancelled and only the SNES version was released. This prototype that im working is from 1995-02-20, a bit unfinished...

Here's the actual state of my modification:

I see someone posted my no-fade hack to Romhacking.net: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5010/
I don't mind it; what I find strange is that the page does not tell who posted it.

There are a few PoP-related things credited to me on romhacking.net: https://www.romhacking.net/community/2916/
However, the Samurai Shodown! 2 translation is not mine. :)
