Needless to say, and as usual, I couldn't manage to meet the deadline. I've progressed a lot, though. My university classes start tomorrow, but I don't really care. It took me several days just to warm up and tune my mind to all development affairs after so many months. I can't afford to quit and do that again, ever! So, I'll continue to work at full throttle. So many difficult problems to solve and nice features to implement... that's what matter the most!oitofelix wrote:...I'm planning to make a new release within this time period.
MININIM updates
Re: MININIM updates
Re: MININIM updates
Since the previous announcement I've been working relentlessly on MININIM. I've decided to record some videos to show its current state of development. Here is the first one. I hope you enjoy! Soon I'll publish recordings about other major features already implemented.
Re: MININIM updates
Nice video.
The menu certainly looks useful for those who prefer mouse interaction.
Little hint at Lua based video mode functionality too.
It'll be interesting to see the other videos, and of course playtest with the next release.

Re: MININIM updates
This update video talks about Lua and Video Modes. Hope you enjoy!
Re: MININIM updates
It's an impressive technical feat. Maybe when you've released the next version, Princed and PoPOT should, in posts about the release, explicitly address (/call to arms) Lua coders.

That'd be great!Norbert wrote:Maybe when you've released the next version, Princed and PoPOT should, in posts about the release, explicitly address (/call to arms) Lua coders.
Re: MININIM updates
That is amazing! You should send a conference/panel proposal to the next GDC http://www.gdconf.com/ to demonstrate your project, would really be cool!oitofelix wrote:This update video talks about Lua and Video Modes. Hope you enjoy!

I'd love, if only I had the financial resources to attend.lvcabral wrote:You should send a conference/panel proposal to the next GDC http://www.gdconf.com/ to demonstrate your project, would really be cool!
Re: MININIM updates
That would be another step, if you get approved, we can have a crowd funding or get a sponsor, first applyoitofelix wrote:Thank you!lvcabral wrote:That is amazing!

Thank you very much for your support!lvcabral wrote:if you get approved, we can have a crowd funding or get a sponsor, first apply
Does that mean I'll only have a chance next year? The call for submissions for VRDC (doesn't apply yet to MININIM ) and the GDC Summits are still open. For the latter, I think the closest matching category for MININIM is the "Independent Games Summit". Do you think I should apply for that?http://www.gdconf.com/conference/c4p/faq.html wrote:What is the submission deadline?
The GDC 2018 Call for Submissions deadline is August 17, 2017 at 11:59pm PT.
Re: MININIM updates
That's indeed amazing work, congratulations!

So, now we can use DOS and Mac graphics, and even automatically alternate between the two every second.oitofelix wrote:This update video talks about Lua and Video Modes. Hope you enjoy!
At 9:00-9:30, you speak about putting more stars onto the sky, but I don't see any...
That might be because the video plays only in 360p.
The quality selection menu shows only three options: Automatic, 360p, and a link to this: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6322658?hl=en
It says Firefox needs at least Windows 7 for better quality options. Great...
BTW, I see you're using Windows 3.1-style window borders.
Re: MININIM updates
To be fair, Windows 7 arrived eight years ago.David wrote:It says Firefox needs at least Windows 7 for better quality options. Great...
In computer time that's forever ago for almost everything.
