As far as I know, Shauing is already working on a DOS levels for SNES mod.

Besides Shauing, spartacus735 also said that'd make one. Both of them are about to show their own DOS version for SNES one, then, you also have you own idea about it, right? So, don't give up, just do it. And remember, how many PoP 1 versions exist out there? I played a few of them and they were the same, but each one of them, has their own style, their own tilesets and stuff, y'know? And people played them knowing this.
The SNES version was the one I saw something else besides 13 levels, 3 bosses, 1 ending and stuff. That version has musics, battles musics, more enemies and bosses, more levels with more rooms, more obstacles and even a training session! So, I really like to play SNES mods and besides those 2, would be cool to know that one more SNES mod's about to show up ^_^.

But here on the forum we don't only do mods, we talk about Prince of Persia and even stuff unrelated to it. You shouldn't feel left out just because you don't want to do mods, you can share all you want about Prince of Persia or other things.
