Re: The Rogue Prince of Persia announced
Talking about spiritual successors... not exactly that as this is an official Prince of Persia, but I like the idea of letting indie developers do their magic. I also like Dead Cells, so I feel the game is in good hands. Planned Release Date: 14 May, 2024 More about the studio: https://evilempirestu...

Re: Prince of Persia 3 was in development a few years ago and then cancelled
Well, that explains why there has not been a PoP 3 project in all these years, and why a fan project would not be possible either. 😔
I guess the best bet now is to wait for a close enough spiritual successor, but using a different name would not be the same.

Re: Greetings
Hey MrBin! A year late, but I'm still the first one to say welcome! "does collision radius work according to every individual sprite's width/height?" As far as I know (and I don't know much) it's a mix of bounding boxes and pixel perfect collisions using overdraw. "what are the player...

Too late for me, the current banner is different now.

Re: Prince of Persia 3 was in development a few years ago and then cancelled
At this point I don't even want 'a game', I just want a document similar to the PoP2 Bible , just to have a glance at the ideas that could have been. If by some miraculous stroke of luck we do end up getting PoP3, I personally would like it to be as close as possible to the original titles: A compel...

Re: Are POP2's controls supposed to be this bad, or is something wrong with my setup?
I think it makes running feel a lot smoother and more reliable overall. I really struggled with 2 jumps in the second temple level when I played the DOS version some days ago, but now I did them first try. If you mean that last big jump in level 11, then I know the frustration . L10Jump.JPG I ...

Re: Are POP2's controls supposed to be this bad, or is something wrong with my setup?
Great analysis! I also got the same feeling about performing a perfect jump. It really is a lot harder to jump in PoP2. As a side note, this is the reason I stumbled across the no cutscene bug in v1.0. I died so many times at Level 03's last pit before the exit door that I accidentally triggered the...

Re: Enemies stacking in v1.1
Yes, I also find it odd, but in a way more realistic too. You can end up in a similar situation in v1.0 if you happen to switch sides with a guard while the second guard is already waiting in queue, they will sandwich you, but it's a lot easier to escape that situation in v1.0 than it is in v1.1. Th...

Re: The Lost Crown
Maybe the stylized graphics are not to everyone's taste but I find the game very colorful and the backgrounds are so beautiful. I can't decide myself whether I like it or not until I try it out, but overall I think it's good enough to give it a try, and a new PoP title to add to the collection. 1b_q...

Love the "BURN RUBBER to the left" hint

I miss this kind of word puzzle hints, it's not super hard but they are fun and help you concentrate.

Re: PoP2 bugs
This is a weird one. I'm playing on V1.0. I haven't fully understood the trigger, it's either constantly loading level 03 after dying or pressing space to check the time left (on level 03), which is not shown after the first tree cutscene on level 05. The effect is that level 03's cutscene doesn't t...

Re: Shapeshifting symbols
Ah, that makes a lot of sense now. It sure feels like an intermediate level of sorts, too short and not much happens when you go the other way. The puzzle is nice as is, not too complicated because it's the beginning of the game, but it definitely would have been way cooler if that ended up being th...
