Re: Autosplitter for PoP1 SNES 100%
I finally added splits for the remaining levels. SNES PoP autosplitter 2023-02-26.zip Awesome, will be sure to check everything out and see if I find any bugs or weird issues. I'm not sure how to measure the time on level 20, because: 1. The main timer stops on level 20. 2. The per-level timer is r...

Re: Disassembly of PoP1 SNES
I added an option for the doing actions in any order. It's enabled by default. If enabled, the autosplitter will recognize any action any time, but the splits display will advance only when the currently highlighted action is done. (Because an autosplitter can't mark a later split as done, nor can ...

Re: Disassembly of PoP1 SNES
Here is what I came up with: SNES PoP autosplitter 2023-01-08.zip So far it's only levels 1-2. I figured out how to follow guards moving to other rooms. Open questions: What if the player does the actions in different order? Currently they won't register. What if the player (dies and) restarts a le...

Re: Disassembly of PoP1 SNES
By the way, how would these checks appear to the users of the autosplitter script? As I see it, autosplitter scripts have limited interaction features. They can tell LiveSplit the game time, tell when a level of the game ended, or reset the times. They can also output debug messages which only deve...

Re: Disassembly of PoP1 SNES
Sweet; so if I understand correctly, with these findings the autosplitter will check for the potions per level (does this include the kill potion on level 18 or not?) and the number of guards per level as well. I assume that if you die, the counter for the potions already drunk and guards killed wil...

Re: Disassembly of PoP1 SNES
Nice. If you manage to find something that tracks the guards you kill, that would be awesome and most likely will allow us to have a way to track them via splits in Livesplit with autosplitter, thus maybe use game end and continue for faster strategies, and make Level 11 possible to complete without...

Autosplitter for PoP1 SNES 100%
I want to ask if inside the game's code, is there an area where it keep track of the potions you've taken and the guards you have killed throughout the game. On the speedrun community we're trying to create the 100% category, and because the game itself doesn't have any gallery or anything similar t...

Re: The Queen Of Light (SNES Mod)
A full run by tasdasd with all the secret shortcuts/skips I put intentionally, plus a few that weren't. I suspect it's a TAS run as it is too clean, ''too perfect''. Neverthless, I'm happy that after 3 and a half years someone found them and see them in action.

Re: Hacking the SNES ROM
Hmmm, I'm more interested on how he inserted the first image of the japanese Box Art and his credit. Because that's what I would love to do, replace/add some background screens to change the story and cutscenes.

Re: Most and least favourite levels in the SNES version?
Now that I have speedrun this game, I'm not sure if I have a favorite level overall. Visual-wise, level 19 is the one more appealing. The one I always look forward the less tho, is Level 17, with the skull patterns which, if you don't do the necessary moves to reach to the boss, it's never gonna be ...

Re: Modifications to prince.exe (hex editing)
[quote=Shauing post_id=34330 time=1642918808 Because SDLPoP is not prepared for the hack with allows the room and column numbers to be different. So it interprets 0x16 (decimal 22) as the room and the column. Column 22 is column 2 of the second room to the right. If you numbered the rooms as in the...

Re: Modifications to prince.exe (hex editing)
There's a few hacks I need to complete the port of Queen Of Light. Not sure if this is where I should ask for these if they are possible. How can it be made that all guards can fall to other rooms without dying? The loose tile that can be walked over (the one with a prohibited sign in apoplexy) is n...

Re: Prince Of Persia 1 SNES US Prototype Released At Hidden Palace
It would be neat to know what each of them says: I have OCR'ed and translated them some time ago. See the attachment. Neat! So it seems that on the January 1992 magazine is already mentioning a fire-type of level (presumably) what would be Level 10 in the final version, so probably it was starting ...

Re: Prince Of Persia 1 SNES US Prototype Released At Hidden Palace
Adolf in the ''Hacking the SNES ROM'' thread, pointed to these magazine scans, but here I re-ripped them a bit clearer. It would be neat to know what each of them says: Jan 10th-17th, 1992. Famitsu 160. Page 93. Famitsu160Jan1092P93.png May 8th-15th, 1992. Famitsu 178. Page 99. Famitsu178May8thP99.p...
