Re: What are you working on?
Last week I started a new job, PHP programming and related things. It's 32 hours/week which is more than the last job I had (25 h/w), so less time to work on my own stuff. Tomorrow, I'm starting a new job; technical service desk work. It's 40 hours/week, so PoP stuff will have to go on the back bur...

Re: Prince of Persia - Inversion (NES mod)
Hi opr, I hope it's okay that I also attached the ZIP to your post. (So everyone who is interested doesn't have to go through all the Dfiles.eu download steps.) If you prefer it not to be, feel free to edit your post and remove it. For those interested in playing the mod, emulator FCEUX can be used ...

I think Linux breaks USB sticks if there's not enough power going to it, and that its developers call this a "hardware problem".

Re: Mini Prince by Anne Bras
I'm also wondering why are there multiple EXE files. All of them will start the same game, even though the files are different. My guess is that MOD stands for mode, as in text mode, producing characters of different sizes, similar to those available in Puny Prince (8x8, 8x14, 8x16, 9x14, 9x16). DO...

The number of images is in the first byte of the palette, [...] [...] All right, I'll get cracking again soon then. Let's see what I can make. My plan was to add collectable rotating coins, using floors with modifier 0x04, for a coins-mod. I tried that for 1 day (14th), then gave up and converted t...

@atrueprincefanfrom18: For me, the Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Prince-of-Persia-Modding-Community-493202517387796/ ...says "You must log in to continue." which might be a settings issue? Also, can you add news about: https://twitter.com/PoPModding/status/1618533607051755520 P...

Re: Gabriel's Challenge
Just wanna make sure it isn't broken or something beforehand, because first mod 'n stuff... y'know how it is. Maybe you already know, but just in case; mod authors can also edit mods on that website. Adding it allows players to launch it using Total Pack (and poplaun). I'm guessing that's the reaso...

Do events have (unimplemented) timers?
While browsing through my leapop code, I noticed that it combines bits 3-7 of the 2nd events byte for an events timer (arEventsTimer). The code never uses this timer though. The timer appears to be either 0 or 31 (ignoring 9x other values). And 31 is used only for unused events, starting in level 4 ...

5. Swords that can be collected, and a gate that only opens if a certain number of swords were collected. Or simply coins, and that the level door requires a certain number of coins to be collected. This would force players to reach certain sections of the map. One example mod could be the original...

I will again delay 2021, to put together a combined 2021+2022 early 2023. Here are the 2021+2022 highlights ( odt ). This overview, again, is nowhere near as complete (and accurate) as those that I created for earlier years, but now there's a document that makes it possible to quickly get a rough i...

Re: Changing PoP1 SNES to look like PoP1 DOS?
I just simply didn't make a tool that can import sprites. Is it that you simply didn't make it, or is it too difficult? Any thoughts on this:? In 2005 Princed issued a call to arms ( page still available via archive.org) to figure out a compression algorithm. What do you think of the idea of postin...
