Someone was/is working on an Eye of the Beholder IV remake, with PoP-like chompers:

With chompers included, it may have everything required to recreate all PoP1 levels for a 3D playthrough...

Someone tweeted:

Linus replies (at 0.28):

Lots of problems though:
- it seems rehearsed, which means no authentic/interesting/funny reactions by Linus,
- the tweets aren't mean (or funny) enough and appear to be picked so Linus can give his 'witty' replies,
- the fake laughing in the background is annoying,
- of course DOSBox can be used to play PoP for DOS, and someone who wants to play PoP for DOS has no use for Steam,
- this is an obvious ripoff of Jimmy Kimmel's Celebrities Read Mean Tweets.

Anyways, I thought I posted it here since it's PoP related.

(Do I hear it right that more than one version has music?)

The versions are:
DOS, GBC, Mac, NES
SMS, Amstrad CPC, Apple II, Turbografx
Genesis, Sega CD, Atari ST, SNES

And they are not in sync.
From 2:36 it's quite boring (but at least easy to follow) with only the SNES still playing. :)

This also reminds me of the zx-news site that shows screenshots (scroll to the bottom) of the same moments from different versions.
(They also have downloads, and their Sega Genesis rom seems to be different from everything I have.)

The title reminds me of a text-only internet advertisement I saw once (in 2011).
I don't really know what is it about, but it contains "13 POPS".
So (then, not now) I collected screenshots of the Prince from various versions and I ended up with much more than 13. :)

This is one of the articles from which there are quotes in the EXE and on the cover.

The "Never mind that ..." parts says interesting things...

Three more related media:

1. Museumofplay.org posted a bit more footage of Mechner's brother jumping (MP4 here).

2. Rob Kwasowski created a lego prince (mirror).

3. He also created this running animation (MP4 here):

I bet none of you knew this. :)

Also, here is a video of a talk that Mechner gave on June 24, 2015 about The Shadow and the Flame, called "Facing our Dark Side in Video Games and in Life": https://vimeo.com/132903263

Did you make this video?
(The font is familiar from Apoplexy and the Sparkours videos.)
How did you find this?

Yes. I was looking at Pr1SnesLevEd and noticed that the guard type "monster" is for an enemy that looks like a person with six arms, which made me think of Hindu gods. So I was wondering, is it a Hindu god and why would the prince fight against a god. Then I did a Google search for something like 'monster boss prince of persia snes' - I don't remember the exact query - and among the results was this YouTube video. The top comment there is: "Look up "Kali Dances for Koura" from the Voyages of Sinbad movie to see what inspired this boss." It did indeed look similar, but I was still wondering why the prince would fight a god, so I checked the Wikipedia article about the film, and there it says that the antagonist "animates a six-armed Kali idol" which was later defeated by the protagonist hero "Sinbad and his men". In other words, the prince does not fight a god; he merely fights an animated material object that resembles/represents a deity.
