I tried this mod.
As the PoPOT page says, there are only two levels. After level 2, the game ends.
(Gotta love that ending text! :) )

Ooh, I haven't even thought of that...
I simply noticed that one rectangle is exactly above one of the potions. :D

I played the mod. I really like the visual style.
Nice that you changed the music as well. It's strange and eerie.

I also completely missed that. :roll: Here's how I guessed correctly:

I thought the screen symbols might be a map of all the hazards in the level. For instance, the guard in the bottom left corner would be a hazard, and then the next two symbols on the bottom row would be the poison potions. I concluded the middle potion must be the correct one, because there was some space between the symbols. I even copied the 'map' onto a piece of paper before moving on to the next room... Of course, the logic completely broke down after that point...

Another alternative hint that points to the same potion. :D
Nice thinking, by the way; that could've been the actual clue.
