That's cool. Professional and modern sound effects.
I wonder if that was done with video editing or by replacing OGG files.
Probably the former, I'm guessing. One reason is that every chomper sounds a bit different.

Well, you could use MININIM and edit its data/audio/*.ogg files.
Some of those are the sound effect files.
If you only have *.mp3 or *.wav files you want to use, there are programs that can convert those to *.ogg.

I think currently SDLPoP does not yet have separate sound effect files that can be edited.

Of course, you will still need to find cool replacement sound effects.
I usually get mine from https://freesound.org/

Both videos are amazing! But, I like more the first one. It's more like, fearsome and medieval! I hope someone make a mod with those songs for us to play. I mean, Are there dowloads for those ones or are they just tests? I saw lots of mod videos for DOS and SNES versions, but there aren't downloads. Too bad...

The people who created those videos started with regular recordings of PoP1 playing, and then added the sound effects with a video editor (post-production).

As I described here, it is possible to add modern sound effects to the actual playable game.
But only by using a free software implementation (remake) that supports replacing PoP1 sound effects with modern audio files of any size/quality.
Currently, MININIM supports this; SDLPoP does not (yet).

I see. Thanks for the explanation!
About Mininim project, I really liked, it's a very cool thing that I've never imagined and plus, made by a Brazilian! That's cool ^_^.

Under the first YouTube video, from another account, its author comments:
"Everything you hear is original. [...] I spent a good couple of hours in a parking garage with a similar acoustic and performed all of the physical movements. Yes, I shuffled feet, jumped, climbed, dropped down, drank the potion and voiced all of the grunts."

His studio "I2" is probably a reference to his name.

I cannot find any information online about a 2014 (or 2013, 2015) Ubisoft sound design competition or contest, though.
