Probably not that interesting, but apparently BlitzMax has a module "dwlab.mod" that includes an editor that someone has used to create a PoP1 map (GitHub link).

Thesis about PoP-related software.

The software itself is at GitHub:

Another remake of PoP?
As a university thesis?
From Hungary?
From the same university where I went?
The world is small indeed!
(No, I didn't make SDLPoP as a university thesis, but otherwise there are many similarities.)

The game itself feels weird and different from the original.

I didn't realize that when I found, and posted about, it.
Interesting coincidence.

Falcury's mod Secrets of the Citadel uses a modified version of SDLPoP. Only mods that use that modified version of SDLPoP can use shadow potions. It is already possible to use apoplexy to place shadow potions in levels of these mods. If you look at the shadow potion in apoplexy, you'll see a blue tile with a question mark and the text "0N10/7". Select a new location where you want a shadow potion. Go to the tiles screen and click the button with the gear icon, in the lower right. You can then set "0N10/7", namely from left to right: random = 0, mod = N, code = 10, code = 7. Next, press the "USE" button. Finally, save the level.

I wonder if KingOfPersia will one day return to say hi.
His Repetition of Time, with its level design, graphics customizations, polish (inc. trailer), remain impressive to this day.

It looks like PoP was the first game that had pressure plates: https://www.giantbomb.com/pressure-plate/3055-2427/ (scroll down)
Also, look at the last of the images about the topic: https://www.giantbomb.com/pressure-plat ... 27/images/
(That site looks like a TV Tropes clone for video games, by the way...)

It's not just over 1 million, but the second most played DOS game on the site: https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_msdos_games
(The first is Oregon Trail...)
Also, 4D PoP is the 9th.

The Internet Archive has only V1.0.

Although they also have PoP versions for other systems, like Mac, Apple II, SEGA Genesis.

It it just me, or are all versions for Nintendo consoles missing?

Found a bit of info about an old PoP fan website.
From 2004-2009, Zain Alvi, currently a Ph.D. in Molecular Bioscience at Seton Hall University (1, 2), ran, using his nick "Zapages", the PoP fan website "Prince of Persia Legacy".
The website was hosted by GameSpy, accessible via Poplegacy.com, and the last version that was online is at Archive.org.
In August 2005 he visited Ubisoft Montreal; there's even a photo of him during that trip here (he's on the right).
Hub Digital Living Magazine, published by Canada Computer Paper Inc, did an interview with him about his fan website that was used as part of an April 2006 article "A Piece of the Action".
