Put your favourite names from the Prince Of Persia saga here!
Mine are:-
Mahasti - Melodious, I know she was a sand birch but eh, name's great!
Malik - Why not, suitable to the setting by elemental proportions!
Kaileena - Great name, very well for her dark work. (btw "Kaal" in Hindi at least, means "Darkness" and also "Time"!)
Dastan - The alternate-reality Prince from the film, the name is brilliant, it translates to "Destiny" in Urdu. (Urdu is a sweet lang. too!)
Nizam - The alternate-reality Vizier/Jaffar from the film, in the Mughal Empire, 'Nizam' meant a region's governer. (Vizier in that time stood for the prime minister of a region)
Now, the name mistakes :-
Farah - Farah was Indian, now, back in the time, the Hindus never really welcomed the Muslims (Mughals, which were from relevant backgrounds)
which clearly means that this is a strongly invalid name, yes, in that time marriage alliances did happen (Hindu/native royals would gift their daughters to the Mughals to prevent war), but in SOT we're seen invading India. Which clearly means that Mughals haven't established their stronghold yet. Too, we're not the Mughals, we're Iranians. TL;DR - Farah is a Muslim name, it should be a Hindu name being politically and historically accurate.
Kalim - Farah's brother, I don't need to explain anything here, I hope.
Vizier - Stupid, Vizier itself in Arabic/Urdu means "Prime Minister". Bah
Now all else is left to you! Also, let's discuss the SOT Prince's name right here!

And the dorkiest - Maharajah
I guess everybody here knows the meaning, just in case, it means "Great King". *sigh*

Re: Character name discussion and mistakes.
farah is not a muslim name, it is an arabic word meaning joy
Re: Character name discussion and mistakes.
If Arabs weren't Muslims. Even if they somehow weren't, it would be senseless. It's a name too. I stand against your statement, kind sir.jalal wrote:farah is not a muslim name, it is an arabic word meaning joy

'Kaala' means black, 'Kaal' means time.TehFlamez wrote:...btw "Kaal" in Hindi at least, means "Darkness" and also "Time"!)...
Re: Character name discussion and mistakes.
'Kaal' can also be associated with 'death', too little for darkness? Also, when did I talk about the word 'Kaala' anyway? That would be easily going to the colour section, and I simply didn't go there. If I remember correctly, 'Kaala' was derived from 'Kaal' by adding a vowel-ish 'aa' sound. Like, 'Dandaa' in Hindi, was derived from 'Danda' (punishment), whereas 'Dandaa' means stick, possibly because sticks were used to punish little children.doppelganger wrote:'Kaala' means black, 'Kaal' means time.TehFlamez wrote:...btw "Kaal" in Hindi at least, means "Darkness" and also "Time"!)...

I guess Yama, the God of death in Hinduism, is also called 'Kāla' (Kaal).TehFlamez wrote: 'Kaal' can also be associated with 'death', too little for darkness?
Is that what you mean by 'Kāla' (Kaal) associated with death?
EDIT: I think I'm going off-topic here.
