Didn't you also have one on this forum?
I vaguely remember seeing one, something non-animated.
Maybe it disappeared during a software update years ago?

I didn't.
Somehow I didn't want to use the previous one. I felt it immature or something. :)
And I just didn't have any idea about what else to use then.
Norbert wrote: I vaguely remember seeing one, something non-animated.
Really? What did you see? :)
Norbert wrote: Maybe it disappeared during a software update years ago?
Well, not. :)
However, I have seen users who would have an avatar but it won't load.
Examples: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2018 and memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2060

By the way, recently I've been making a table about whose avatar shows what.
For example yours is from this video: viewtopic.php?p=13522#p13522

Then perhaps what I remember seeing was your animated PoPUW avatar after all.

Some old avatars from PoPUW...
(I don't remember which belonged to whom, sorry...)

Prince of football?
(This reminds me, there is a football player called van Persie.)

Is this how they cook the food in the Prince of Persia restaurants? :)

Based on those Uncle Sam posters.

Windmills, tulips, and... smoking?

Yep, he's Dutch.
David wrote:Windmills, tulips, and... smoking?
Cannabis cigarette. Dutch Cannabis policy used to be/is unique (Wikipedia). That was my avatar on PoPUW, either for my regular or my 'incognito' account. I only vaguely remember making it, but even if I'd have amnesia, I'd still recognize the collage as being mine. The whole composition, the (white) border, the font (URW Gothic L), the text being the same amount of pixels from the top and right border (both 4px), just like the tile; basically, everything. :)

What, you had an incognito account?

Yeah, but I used it only a couple of times and posted nothing interesting.
I wanted the first post with my regular account to be about apoplexy, or something like that.
I don't really remember the details.

Actually, this is the first time I hear this song...

So what is it, anyway? Midomi says:
title: Time Only Knows
artist: Stuart Chatwood
And Amazon also tells that:
album: Prince of Persia Trilogy (Original Game Soundtracks)
Oh, yeah.
singer: Cindy Gomez

I have heard lots of game music, but it's rare to have singing...
"At night, I sleep and dream of you,"
[Hey, does your wife know you listen to such things? :) ]
I know it is an old post (not old as in 'very-old'), but I hate seeing questions unreplied.
That song plays when the credits roll in Prince of Persia Sands of Time.
This reply would've come earlier if I weren't lazy at reading.

I guess I feel similarly. Especially when I know the answer.

Thank you!

Remember the VG Cats?
I found a few other webcomics that feature PoP.
(All of them are about the new trilogy, or the even-newer games like PoP 2008... Nobody remembers the first game?)

Beware, some of these have blood! (or swearing)
http://www.gamer9.net/?strip_id=7 -- Prince of Parkour. With some cameos and a description about PoP games and the genre of "Parkour Games".
http://english.bouletcorp.com/2006/01/1 ... of-persia/ -- Playing and failing...
http://www.digitalpimponline.com/comic/avw/6/ -- This one parodies how Elika always saves the prince in PoP 2008. Also has a description about the game.
https://www.penny-arcade.com/archive/re ... rds=persia -- Not one but five strips!
http://web.archive.org/web/201008161243 ... es.com/137 -- About building a level. (This one does not say PoP, but TV Tropes says it's about PoP.)

Well, It looks like Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands.

It's funny, that when you think you are in a dead end, there would at least be a hole in the floor or a crack in the wall you can use to get out. If there isn't, a meteor shower or an earthquake would make one, so that you can (and you MUST) make progress.

Hey I noticed this only now: The prince is hanging on a spurt of water in one case!?
doppelganger wrote:Well, It looks like Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands.
Let's see...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_of_Persia:_The_Forgotten_Sands wrote: Each of them translates to a different power during combat, such as the ability to "solidify" water fountains and turn them into climbable columns.
http://kotaku.com/5475893/the-latest-prince-of-persia-plays-with-solid-water-and-flexible-time wrote: For instance, holding a trigger allows the prince to solidify water, not freeze it, but slow it down to a point in which it becomes solid. Then the prince can run up or along it, as if it were a wall.
Later in the game, McIntyre walks the prince into a room with an assortment of fountains shooting water horizontally and vertically. Holding the trigger turns these fountains into columns that the prince can scale and swing from.
Well, that explains it.
(Remember, I didn't play the game.)

Hey, this reminds me of...

The Princed server has a hidden folder of PoP screenshots here:
http://www.princed.org/content/files/sc ... s/archive/ (ZX Spectrum, Gameboy Color, Macintosh)

Now, the interesting part is that another site has the same images, with the same filenames:
http://harom.tizennegy.hu/prince/extra/extra.htm (also has some Genesis screenshots in addition)

I wonder who copied whom...

(BTW, the latter site is the homepage of the old POPMAP level editor, among other things.)
