How long till you add Apoplexy?
Re: popot.org
I've just added it to the website:mk1995 wrote:How long till you add Apoplexy?
http://www.popot.org/level_editors.php?editor=apoplexy
Next up is the Princed editor.
Re: popot.org
I've added information about it, but for now just about the 2.5 FINAL version for DOS:Norbert wrote:Next up is the Princed editor.

(I still need to figure out some stuff before adding information about the v3 and v4 versions.)
To David: your SNES level editor, is the latest version "30 October 2010" or does it also have a version number?
Also, is your full name ever used to give you credit or do you prefer just "David"?
Is it possible for a moderator/administrator to enable the Search function of this forum?
It appears to always be disabled.
Re: popot.org
Oh, who cares about such a small margin? There just so happen to be people that have greater PoP skill than the modmakers and such can pull off much better times. I'm hinting at Moscow Tracer here, who, among others, made spreedruns of my mods and levelsets, using and abusing tricks I didn't even think of when creating my levels. It gets problematic if the time remaining is such a ridiculous amount that you simply can't help but think it's total cheating.Norbert wrote:However, a lot of mod authors are Missing In Action, and it would still be quite easy to edit a HoF image and claim to be 2 seconds faster than the current #1 player of a mod.mk1995 wrote:[...] you could ask the modmakers how much time they took going through their own mod when knowing exactly where to go. That should give you a base time.
So, unless I still haven't convinced you of adding a Hall of Fame for each mod and levelset you uploaded to your site, I recommend not only consulting the modmakers, but also Moscow Tracer, as he's the speedrunner of the community here.
Re: popot.org
Well, it doesn't have a version number, just a date.Norbert wrote:To David: your SNES level editor, is the latest version "30 October 2010" or does it also have a version number?

As for my name, I prefer just "David".
Re: popot.org
Okay, thanks for the information.David wrote:Well, it doesn't have a version number, just a date.

I've added a SNES ROM image and information about the PoP1 SNES level editor to the website:
http://www.popot.org/level_editors.php? ... 1SnesLevEd
http://www.popot.org/get_the_games.php?game=1_SNES
(I decided to call the level editor "Pr1SnesLevEd", since "Prince of Persia 1 SNES level editor" is probably too general. David, if you want me to use another name: let me know and I'll change it.)
Next week, I'll focus on adding more mods to the "Custom Levels" section.
Re: popot.org
Added two more mods:
http://www.popot.org/custom_levels.php?mod=0000036 (Potion Puzzles)
http://www.popot.org/custom_levels.php?mod=0000064 (the new mod by Jakim)
Meanwhile, the PoP1 Total Pack is annoying me, because starwindz added all kinds of files to the directories in run/, which makes it very hard to determine what files are actually part of the mods (and what the real mods' default dungeon and palace graphics are; things like that).

Re: popot.org
Norbert, I recommend you put the website into your profile under the User Control Panel. That makes a "WWW" button appear at the bottom of your posts so it's much less of a hassle to get quick access to the index page.

That WWW-button (I know what you mean) doesn't seem to appear though...
Maybe there's another (admin?) setting somewhere?
Re: popot.org
At least I thought a button like that would appear somewhere... Looks like I was wrong.Norbert wrote:That WWW-button (I know what you mean) doesn't seem to appear though...

Ah, yes, htamas...poirot wrote:Most of the hacks were product of the hard work of David and htamas; [...]
I can now answer my own question. I was thinking about a tool that htamas was working on.Norbert wrote:What would be the easiest and best way to create full size images of entire levels?
If I remember correctly there used to be a tool for that, but maybe I'm mistaken.
He managed to salvage some posts about it: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=663
Unfortunately, he was on this forum only one day, on February 22nd, 2009. I will try to find a way to download his application and then I'll make it available on popot.org. I may also try to contact htamas, because we could really use his input.
Re: popot.org
Added ExePack and UPackExe to the "Other Useful Tools" section:
http://www.popot.org/other_useful_tools ... ack_unpack
(Also, added Secrets of Dungeons yesterday.)
In case anyone is wondering, most PRINCE.EXE files out there, including the original, are packed with ExePack.
UPackExe in turn can be used to unpack PRINCE.EXE, after which some extra things can be hex-edited.

Re: popot.org
I'm currently working on a new PoP related command-line utility (GPL3 or later).
I estimate that it will take me about 1-2 more weeks to finish it.
After I've released it, I'll get back to working on popot.org.
