Other Level Editors

Post by Emiliano »

Does anyone know how was 4D_PRIN exactly made?
When I found PoPot I downloaded Princedit trying to make my own levels, but that program has really few options and some controls are stuck or unreachable.
My primitive mods (holes everywhere mods) were made with this limited editor
4D_PRIN is really well made and I think Terebilov used a Hex editor or any other program besides simple modifications with a limited level editor.
Don't you think so?
Or does anyone know how to fully use princedit?
If anybody know, please teach me and forgive my ignorance

I guess those editors are old enough and you won't be able to make any good mods from it. Best is to use Apoplexy :)
Even I don't know much about those editors and lot of other stuff... So if I am wrong please correct me. Thank you.
Love to create new MODS :)

Yeah, for example, the "Edit level" option doesn't do much:
It lets you move a square around in the box where the map would appear, but you can't edit anything there.
And the map doesn't appear either, though the editor will sometimes tell you that the level map is not available.

Instead, the room links can be edited by pressing "N".

By the way, Princedit has one thing common with Apoplexy: You can move between rooms using shift+arrows (in Edit room mode).
