I'm wondering if anyone noticed the Orion constellation in the middle of the starry sky in these versions of PoP.
(Note: The screenshots on most websites, such as Moby Games, were taken after the Prince of Persia logo appeared, which covers the stars.)
PC-98:
Sharp X86000:
SEGA CD:
TurboGrafx CD & PC Engine CD: (The colors are quite odd in this one...)
FM Towns: (Which uses the same graphics as the PC-98.)
The SNES port also has a starry sky in the intro, but it's quite different, and it has no Orion.

Re: The stars on the sky in the Japanese ports of PoP
I think the way you included the outer stars is a bit of a stretch.
While at it, I think the full moon is too big compared to Orion on the screenshots, or maybe Orion is too small.
According to this starmap, the main part of Orion (which is shown in the game) is about 20 degrees tall; and the Moon appears about the same size in the game, while the Moon's actual apparent diameter is about half a degree.
But of course a smaller moon would not look as spectacular on the screen...
By the way, this is not the first time someone found a problem with the depiction of the Moon in a PoP game; see here: viewtopic.php?p=19672#p19672
