Re: Journey In Mystery
There is an other way to solve it but this is my own favourite wayEmiliano Fierro wrote: ↑June 19th, 2020, 2:27 am I tried your mod and discovered that it uses some tricks, some very hard for me.
I couldn't pass your mod, please ask Amogh Datar yo play your mod
And about the graphics, I liked them very much, but using SDLPOP is still hard for me being accustomed to DosBox, I will see what I can do
Good luck making new mods
I suggest to play test every level just to make sure it can be finished
Best for you
Goodbye

Re: Journey In Mystery
Oh, are you double clicking "Journey In Mystery.EXE" and then playing? I am using Linux, so double clicking EXE doesn't run the file... Anyone expert can help? Also, Sting, maybe you can also look at how KingOfPersia who created Repetition Of Time created the INI and/or CFG file.

Wow! What? You use Linux OS? You use dual boot in Windows?atrueprincefanfrom18 wrote: ↑June 20th, 2020, 12:47 pm Oh, are you double clicking "Journey In Mystery.EXE" and then playing? Then how did you start this mod in SDLPoP?atrueprincefanfrom18 wrote: ↑June 20th, 2020, 12:47 pm Oh, are you double clicking "Journey In Mystery.EXE" and then playing? I am using Linux, so double clicking EXE doesn't run the file... Anyone expert can help?
Did you start the "prince" executable located in another folder, while the current directory was the mod's folder?
You could either:
a) install WINE so you can start "Journey In Mystery.EXE", or
b) maybe you should copy the Linux executable of SDLPoP into the mod's folder so it will use the SDLPoP.ini in that folder?

Re: Journey In Mystery
No, I used Windows when it was pre-installed. But, after almost a year, when I was installing Imagick and Composer together for my new PHP project, something went wrong. This was not the first time I was frustated with Windows. So, I switched to Ubuntu 18.04 (I guess most people switch because of the same reason?)yourantumayel69 wrote: ↑June 20th, 2020, 1:33 pm Wow! P.S: Why's that shocking to you?
I changed SDLPoP.ini inside the main folder (ok, directory ) and changed
Code: Select all
levelset = original
Code: Select all
levelset = Journey in Mystery
Code: Select all
./prince
I felt some slow movements in the game when doing a) option, so I'll check b) and see if it's good to use.
But I'm still wondering why and how Repetition Of Time was built in this way that just running
Code: Select all
./prince

Re: Journey In Mystery
b) Worked perfectly! Thank you!
I wanted to know one thing. Is there any way I can just run and it would run the /path/to/SDLPoP-1.20/prince executable without any errors? I tried copying prince executable to /usr/bin/prince and also tried making symlink, but there is some error on terminal saying something about backtable not found or something like that. I forgot what that error was. Is there any way David? Because the SDLPoP-1.20 directory is way deeper. So, I just want to press ALT + F2 and type prince and it would run the same file. If it's possible, please let me know.
Also please feel free if you want to move the post to SDLPoP thread.

Alt+F2 is "Run Application".atrueprincefanfrom18 wrote: ↑June 20th, 2020, 5:36 pm So, I just want to press ALT + F2 and type prince and it would run the same file.
I think you need to log out and log in after the previous step to make the changes work in the "Run Application" window.
(I can't verify this currently.)
