Hi all,
We've just released the code for Jaffar, the bot we're using to create the next POP1 TAS and discover new tricks. If you've got some experience with Linux systems, feel free to give it a try:

You can also see it sometimes in action on Twitch:

Cheers!
Jaffar: PoP Speedrunning Bot
Re: Jaffar: PoP Speedrunning Bot
I've looked at your and some other Twitch accounts, and can no longer find the link to the general overview of past videos.
Did Twitch remove this? Or maybe you and others have disabled that?
I just see a live video, below that directory tags, and below that an about section with external link(s).
On the left recommended channels, on the right a stream chat.
I remember not too long ago I could see a thumbnail overview of past videos.

Unfortunately, I'm not at the point Twitch saves my previous streams. But I've saved some highlights in my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSXpK3 ... fjgF5jFoKA
At this very moment, I'm streaming Lvl2 on Twitch.

Re: Jaffar: PoP Speedrunning Bot
The purpose of the stream is primarily the demonstration of a technical feat, correct?
I.e. that you managed to run a bot that can broadcast its progress?
Given the very slow progress, I don't see anyone watching the stream for long.
A sped-up version of its past attempts at improving a run might be more interesting?
This on-topic video of yours is interesting:

Q: The purpose of the stream is primarily the demonstration of a technical feat, correct? I.e. that you managed to run a bot that can broadcast its progress?
A: Exactly, and for me to monitor how things are going. But the ultimate goal I'm targeting is producing a faster TAS than I had produced a month ago or so. That is, one that fully manipulates RNG and squeezes every possible frame. That's what I'm doing now.
Q: Given the very slow progress, I don't see anyone watching the stream for long.
A: I understand that. I expect people to check from time to time how it's going. That's what I'm doing myself.
Q: A sped-up version of its past attempts at improving a run might be more interesting?
A: That's not a bad idea at all. I could have a loop of the current best sequence running from the start.

A: Thanks! I try to document interesting stuff and compare starts frame by frame.

Why is the name of the bot Jaffar?
Re: Jaffar: PoP Speedrunning Bot
Because he controls TIME!
