This could impact PoP for SNES, NES, Game Boy (Color), ...
Nintendo sues LoveROMs and LoveRetro
Re: Some random stuff
Yeah, I read that too a couple of days ago.
This is pretty sad and frustrating, but it was always a possibility that it could happen someday.
It had to happen just when I am doing my first mod and I am still a bit away from finishing it.

Re: Some random stuff
I think currently you don't have to worry about it.
Your goal is not to enrich yourself; you're not engaging in mass-scale infringement to make money from ads and donations.
They're after big, commercial websites.

It it just me, or are all versions for Nintendo consoles missing?
Re: Nintendo sues LoveROMs and LoveRetro
A very impressive fan-made semi-game project has recently been shut down (by CBS).
A completely non-commercial, interactive recreation of the USS Enterprise.

Re: Nintendo sues LoveROMs and LoveRetro
really sad tbh
i don't get why getting a rom for a game no longer onsale is "bad", yet i have some nintendo roms and nintendo didn't just disappear out of thin air, though that's what nintendo thinks.
though, this really couldn't impact gb pop etc, there's still a few downloads on popuw and a tampermonkey script to re allow downloads for emuparadise

Re: Nintendo sues LoveROMs and LoveRetro
Nintendo is actually selling PoP1 for GBC and SNES in their Virtual Console: https://www.nintendo.com/games/game-gui ... f%20persia
The GBC version is sold for the 3DS and the SNES version is sold for the Wii.
(The page doesn't tell the original platform of the games. Also, the SNES version seems to have no price.)
And don't forget about the various other ROM sites.
I saw that emuparadise removed their download links (it tells you only after you click download), but I didn't know they left the files on the servers.
While at it, I know of two sites that specifically removed all games for Nintendo systems:
* http://www.planetemu.net/news?section=n ... =detailled (French) -- "Retrait des sets Nintendo"
* https://classicreload.com/search -- "Do not request: [...] - Any Nintendo games"

yep, it's odd they still have their files!
