Kaslghnoon wrote:Not at this time since we don't have enough information to do this on either DOS nor SNES. The SNES already has a total of 27 levels, it's all a matter of breaking the barrier that separates the training and demo levels from the regular 1-20. It will require some serious hex editing which I don't think I can do right now. I will keep this in mind to work on whenever time allows.
It's ok, there's no need to do this, was just a doubt I had. But if you want to investigate about this you can do it, it could be nice to make a levelset with more than the original limit of levels.

Thanks for the answer.

Kaslghnoon, since you changed the password rules, I cannot easily make screenshots of various levels.
Could you please make 3 or more (max. 9) 256 by 224 pixels screenshots and send these to me via private message or post them in this thread, or give me passwords so I can create the screenshots myself?
Thanks.

You can obtain any password you want here.

Simply fill out the form and press the "generate" button.

That won't work currently, because Kaslghnoon changed the "alphabet" used by the passwords.
("E7BPH9V25NU1ZMATGDW6SK0Y8XR4FJ3C", In the ROM image: offset 0x15E38, 32 bytes.)
Maybe it could be added into the "Game country" list?

A flexible solution would be to JavaScript-move the value of the selected game country into an input field of type="text".
Then the user could paste custom password alphabets into that input field.

Maybe not worth the effort of changing that though.
Will barely ever be used, and the hex editing is easy to do and useful to learn.

Actually, he changed more than just the alphabet.
Some time ago I tried to generate passwords with this alphabet for the mod, but they didn't work.
That's because he also changed a constant in the checksum generation routine.
I can post details if someone is interested.

Btw, there are other protective hacks in this mod.
For example it checks whether the current level and max HP is an allowed combination, and if it isn't then the game hangs.
This check requires at least 6 HP for level 11 and later levels.
The sole purpose of level 10 is to block the player if he has less than 6 HPs. See also here: viewtopic.php?p=21860#p21860

Cannot believe it. Don't know why, but I played this today out of boredom, and after utilizing lots of save-states and despite having to redo a few levels due to missing the required minimum life potions to get pass Level 10, I managed to beat this one. I feel this one is quite fun until Level 7-8, where if you don't know the tricks or how do they work, you won't beat this mod. I still don't understand how I managed to clip the door on Level 12 but somehow made it.

Can anyone give me a hand with level 8? Right at the start there is a tile on the upper left, next to a blade wall, that I believe needs to be dropped but I have no clue if it can even be done.

That's indeed what needs to happen, going by the author's hint here.
I don't know how to do it, but I think robert does; you could PM him.
Alternatively, you could PM the author, Kaslghnoon. (Or both.)

It's trick 164 (demonstrated by atrue here):
