apoplexy v1.2b released!

Post by Norbert »

I'm happy to announce that I've just released version 1.2b of apoplexy.

The GNU/Linux version can be downloaded here.
I've asked David to create a Windows port.
[Edit: and...] The Windows version can be downloaded here.

This new version features:
+ Added a screen that can be used to (deliberately) create, change and fix so-called broken room links.
* Fixed a minor bug that sometimes caused unintentional changes to events.

(Don't worry, the old room links screen still exists. The new screen is just an addition.)

Thanks. :)

In this Windows version, when you click the top area of the application, does it start PoP1 within DOSBox?
I hope it does, because in the past it didn't always work for everyone, I think.
Does that work on your computer, David?

It does start if either DosBox is in the path (it has to be added by hand) or there is a dosbox.bat in the apoplexy folder which contains the full path to dosbox.exe plus a %1 (to pass the parameter).

[Edit: I've changed this entire post.]

In the main directory of the Windows port I've added: 1. a DOSBox/ directory with all files of (the installed) DOSBox 0.74 (+ the source package), and 2. a dosbox.bat file that fires up DOSBox\DOSBox.exe %1.
That should make it as user-friendly as possible. :) The package: apoplexy-1.2b-win32.zip

The next apoplexy version will include a help screen with a link to a video that will help aspiring modders like yourself.
(Quoting from my TODO list here: "Add a help page that links to YouTube videos for newbies (both about apoplexy and modding in general), links to the apoplexy board of the Princed forum, and links to the 'New levels and mods' board.")
