What languages do you speak?

Post by mk1995 »

In a desperate attempt to make the forums more active, I decided to open a topic about languages. While I'm at it, I'd like to request an actual "Off-Topic" forum, since the "General Stuff" forum here seems a bit too PoP-related for being a proper Off-Topic forum.

Now, on to the topic. There are PoP fans all around the world here, speaking different languages. So I not only wanted to know which one's your mother language, but also which foreign languages you can speak. So, I guess I'm going to start so you'll have a decent pattern.

Mother Language: German
Other Languages: English (fluently), Russian (less than average), Japanese (learning, but pretty good at the moment)

Your turn.

Just to make something clear: I will not reply to daft PMs like "Where can I find X?" or "Can you give me a link to Y?". Most of your questions are likely answerable if only you took your bloody time to look through these forums and use Google if all else fails. Sheesh...

My mother tongue is English, but I'm alright in Spanish. My French is very rusty and I know a little Manx, and I can pronounce French, German and Spanish.

Mother Language: English
Other Language: English

I wish school would teach another language besides Spanish. That's why I didn't take it this year.

Yeah, that's quite interesting to hear. Especially due to the fact that what little you wrote into the Polish forums has obviously been the work of an online translator.

I'm now learning how to pronounce Italian. :) It's much easier to learn than German, and I feel I'm getting pretty good at it. :)

So what can you say in Polish?
(By the way, something in the forums, probably related to database is broken and Polish characters become question marks. I suppose it's just one line in phpBB config to fix it, can anyone do it? mysql_query("set names latin2") would probably do the thing.)
nothing now the school boss say ''group 7 you go learn the next month polish''

Well, even for some Germans, their language is pretty difficult to learn. By the way, as you know, I learn Japanese. Well, pronounciation of that language is quite difficult (especially the "r"), but I think I handle it very well. You can pronounce any accent of world language. After all, every human being is constructed in an identical way.
