Re: Most and least favourite levels in the SNES version?
Now that I have speedrun this game, I'm not sure if I have a favorite level overall. Visual-wise, level 19 is the one more appealing. The one I always look forward the less tho, is Level 17, with the skull patterns which, if you don't do the necessary moves to reach to the boss, it's never gonna be ...

Re: Modifications to prince.exe (hex editing)
[quote=Shauing post_id=34330 time=1642918808 Because SDLPoP is not prepared for the hack with allows the room and column numbers to be different. So it interprets 0x16 (decimal 22) as the room and the column. Column 22 is column 2 of the second room to the right. If you numbered the rooms as in the...

So far I have figured out only the shadow events. All offsets are for unpacked 1.0. Move the event where the shadow gets out of the mirror and runs occurs on Level 6? seg002:06E1 83 3E 9E 0F 04 cmp current_level, 4 ; Special event: mirror music seg002:06E6 75 1D jnz locret_3D85 seg002:06E8 80 3E 27...

Re: Modifications to prince.exe (hex editing)
There's a few hacks I need to complete the port of Queen Of Light. Not sure if this is where I should ask for these if they are possible. How can it be made that all guards can fall to other rooms without dying? The loose tile that can be walked over (the one with a prohibited sign in apoplexy) is n...

Re: Prince Of Persia 1 SNES US Prototype Released At Hidden Palace
It would be neat to know what each of them says: I have OCR'ed and translated them some time ago. See the attachment. Neat! So it seems that on the January 1992 magazine is already mentioning a fire-type of level (presumably) what would be Level 10 in the final version, so probably it was starting ...

Re: Prince Of Persia 1 SNES US Prototype Released At Hidden Palace
Adolf in the ''Hacking the SNES ROM'' thread, pointed to these magazine scans, but here I re-ripped them a bit clearer. It would be neat to know what each of them says: Jan 10th-17th, 1992. Famitsu 160. Page 93. Famitsu160Jan1092P93.png May 8th-15th, 1992. Famitsu 178. Page 99. Famitsu178May8thP99.p...

Re: Prince Of Persia 1 SNES US Prototype Released At Hidden Palace
Thanks for mentioning it, hadn't seen it before. :D I just played through this including the five training levels and am surprised how very close the prototype is to the release. If Arsys had gotten this far by November 1990, I wonder what delayed the release by more than a year. Just the censoring...

Prince Of Persia 1 SNES US Prototype Released At Hidden Palace
On January 1st of this year, an US prototype of the first Prince of Persia for SNES was released on Hidden Palace. Based on what the website says, and my own not-so in-depth look at it, it is a US prototype that's is uncensored (or mostly at least) as the pentagrams on levels 19 and the fight agains...

Re: New tile ideas
Hmm, is there a way to make loose tiles that you can walk on them but not climb on them? I have only managed to do the former and look like normal tiles by choosing 'y' on the mod portion of the custom tiles window, however they're still climbable.

Re: New tile idea: teleports
I tried your prince.exe with the data/ folder from the teleports branch. The allow_triggering_any_tile option in the INI works for me. Level 3 uses correct dungeon graphics by default. If I set level_type = palace in the INI then it uses correct palace graphics. What are we doing differently? Did y...

Re: New tile ideas
Not sure if this is a tile related thing, but what about guards that can fall to other rooms like the skeleton does throughout the entire game?

Re: New tile idea: teleports
Been using this teleport branch, and while the teleport thing works wonderful, for some reason a few things that I changed aren't working, such as the raise/drop tiles can make loose tiles fall option. Also Level 3 for some reason is displaying the dungeon color palette despite using the palace ass...

Re: New tile idea: teleports
All right then. Will wait to see if either of them can do something or if it comes on the next release.
