Re: Your thoughts on adding a playtest pop-up with options?

Thanks for the input oitofelix. I'll implement auto-download (and update) from the official upstream using in-program buttons. I implemented something similar for poplaun, so I know what needs to be done. For both programs, I'd need a <url>...-latest.zip with Windows and GNU/Linux executables includ...

Re: Apple II port to BBC Master computer

Thanks for the info about the potion bubbles - is there a standard colour scheme used to indicate what effect each one hsa on the player? Yes, see the attached image. (You can ignore the far left and far right potions.) The DOS port also has green bubbles, for float and flip. [...], and the bubbles...

Re: Apple II port to BBC Master computer

You're right, picking the BBC Master 128 makes the off-line BeebEm work, thanks. Fun sword pickup (/guard kill/exit door open) sound effect. It plays smoothly (minor screen loading, not an issue) and, so far, also seems accurate. In fighting stance, the sword in waiting (horizontal) position seems i...

Re: Apple II port to BBC Master computer

it has been moving along steadily That's good to read. I've forwarded your call for playtesters here and here . The graphics look polished, I like it. The on-line emulator is unusable for me... It's too bad that that emulator stops when switching away from its tab. Because it means players are forc...

Re: Pause menu

In ChangeLog.txt it says: DONE: Added in-game menu (press Escape or Backspace) with ability to change settings while in-game. Based on what I see on other lines in this file, I'm guessing "DONE" might need to be "ADDED" here. [Edit: Hm, actually, the use of ADDED appears to be inconsistent. Especial...

And if I use this program, I'll find it right away. Isn't it? :|
You don't need to use the program when playing.

I will establish - the 64th digit system.
You don't need to.
There's an attachment to my post here that says "32bit_apoplexy31.zip".
You can simply copy the files from that ZIP into the directory of the Windows 64-bit version of apoplexy.

Re: Pause menu

I'd note here that in Dev-C++, "Save All" won't save the project file. It seems that the only way to save the project file is to quit, and then answer yes to the "Save changes to SDLPoP?" question. This has bugged me for quite a while. Maybe file a bug report about it. https://sourceforge.net/p/orw...

This is the part I really liked.
conveniently
These quick links are still available through the top menu.
In my opinion, there really didn't change much when it comes to the menu and its entries.

That window is 1291×858, which is just a tiny bit bigger than 1280×800, the resolution that I usually use. I can't believe that 1366x768 is still the most used desktop resolution according to StatCounter and W3Schools . How is this possible. Maybe I'm not fully aware of just how rich my country is ...

Your thoughts on adding a playtest pop-up with options?

I'm curious to read your thoughts on the following, especially how SDLPoP/MININIM developers look at this. - add [to apoplexy] a pop-up when initiating playtesting that allows the user to pick between DOSBox and SDLPoP. I could still implement this. MININIM has since arrived (Feb. 2016) and should a...

Re: only prince of persia 1

If you want to skip the selection screen and go immediately to PoP1 for DOS editing, you can also create an APOPLEXY.BAT file with:

Code: Select all

apoplexy.exe -1

Kind of a fun playlist. I did watch everything, but set YouTube speed to 2, or it would've taken too much time to watch it all. Apparently guards ignore mirrors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdkbIOumWN4&t=175 This is kind of funny, double dead prince in a chomper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
