Re: Do you want shoutbox?

I don't know what you've done, but the main page displays only an error message when I'm logged in: General Error Language file shout.php couldn't be opened. "How did you get to this topic, then?", you may ask. Well I opened the main page in an other browser without logging in, and copied the link o...

Re: Level editor for the SNES version

One question, though. Where's the difference between ROMs with header and headerless ROMs? Except for the file size, of course... Well, in headered ROMs, all the data is preceded by a 512-byte header, which increases the address of everything by 512. When a headerless ROM is opened in the old versi...

Re: Level editor for the SNES version

I have a European version of PoP SNES, and loading it works just fine, but when I select a level, I either get an error message ("C++ Exception!") or it freezes up and I have to close it. Well, the problem is that you have headerless SMC files, but I tested the editor with headered SMC files only. ...

Re: Any cheat for PoP 1989 v1.3?

In the DOS window, after adding "megahit" or "improved", depending on the version, you can add "level__", whereas "__" is the level you wish to go to. In PoP1 you don't have to write "level", just the number. For example: prince.exe megahit 4 In PoP2, however, you have to type "level" before the le...

Re: Someone know a sound software to edit PoP sound?

There are some header bytes before the sound Yes, i've already discovered that. For PoP1 sounds, the header is: 1 byte: type of sound, 0=pcspeaker, 1=wave, 2=midi The following appear only if wave: 2 bytes: sample rate 2 bytes: number of samples 2 bytes: always 0 1 byte: sample size, always 8 And f...

Re: How to extract sprites (tiles) from the SNES version?

Speaking of intro text, I think I might get myself a ROM of the Japanese PoP and take a look at what the text says in the original Japanese release. Well, I've extracted the texts from the Japanese version: (Sky with moon bg) ?????????????????????????????????????????? (Sky with moon bg) ???????????...

Re: How to extract sprites (tiles) from the SNES version?

It seems that running PHP programs is difficult for most people, so I've added the missing sprites to the download and corrected some palettes. The link is the same: http://www.freeweb.hu/princepersia/en/snessprites_dl.htm If the publisher decided those images were too gory for PoP SNES, why leave t...

Re: How to extract sprites (tiles) from the SNES version?

BTW David, what's that "[CENSORED]" comment in the PHP source for? It means that sprites 719-745 show the prince with his head being chopped off and 746-751 shows him impaled . If you REALLY want to see that, simply comment out the line and run the program. Btw, these images are not used by the game.

Re: How to extract sprites (tiles) from the SNES version?

I've extracted all the sprites from the game. You can download them here:
http://www.freeweb.hu/princepersia/en/s ... tes_dl.htm
The program used to extract them (written in PHP) is also included.
