PoP concept art (Mechner's drawings)

PoPOT already has some of Mechner's old drawings: https://www.popot.org/get_the_games.php?extra=PoP1_drawings I found some more here: http://www.mobygames.com/game/prince-of-persia/promo/groupId,25853/ Not all of these are drawings, some are scripts or descriptions of the characters. The first versi...

Why are there no vowels on the password screen?

PoP1 for the SNES has two versions: one for Japan, and another for Europe and the USA. One difference between the two versions is the passwords. Not only the generated passwords are different, but the available characters are also different: SNES_PoP_comparison.png The question is: Why are the vowel...

Re: SNES Mod: The Quiet Levels

That won't work currently, because Kaslghnoon changed the "alphabet" used by the passwords. ("E7BPH9V25NU1ZMATGDW6SK0Y8XR4FJ3C", In the ROM image: offset 0x15E38, 32 bytes.) Maybe it could be added into the "Game country" list? Actually, he changed more than just the alphabet. Some time ago I tried...

I just realized that Jaffar wears just as much pink as the princess... :?
But only in the DOS (and the Amiga) version.

(I commented out the SDL_RenderSetIntegerScale() calls because my system has SDL 2.0.4, and I didn't want to manually install SDL 2.0.5.)
I added version checks for that: https://github.com/NagyD/SDLPoP/issues/ ... -351948623
(Although this is not yet on the settings window branch.)

Re: Ghost of Persia

I tried this mod. As the PoPOT page says, there are only two levels. After level 2, the game ends. (Gotta love that ending text! :) ) And this spoiler explains how you know which blue potion to drink: Ooh, I haven't even thought of that... I simply noticed that one rectangle is exactly above one of ...

Re: (Atari ST) PoP saved game editor

I looked into the PRINCE.SAV file. * Offsets $00-$01 store the time. See below how. * Offset $02 stores the level number. * Offset $03 stores the number of hitpoints. * Offsets $04-$0E store zeroes, except for offset $06 that stores $02. On your disk image, PRINCE.SAV begins at offset $C6000. About ...

Re: Names of the levels

Still a bit strange to keep the level name like that through. End-users didn't get to see the level names anyway, or at least not in the game. Plus, it's interesting that he writes made on and not finished on. Maybe it took just one day? Or, more likely, he forgot that it took more days? I tried to...

Re: Forum spam

EDIT: By the way, it seems that the user profile page does not show whether the user is banned. The PoPUW forum had a separate "rank" for this, called "I have been permanently banned". :) I found a little difference that shows if a user is banned: profiles of banned users don't show the "send PM" l...

Re: (Atari ST) PoP saved game editor

David, maybe split this thread in two? Done. Everything in this folder http://www.mirari.fr/file/browse?f=714&u=506 I tried the disk image from "Prince Of Persia + Loader.zip" in the STeem emulator. So, I see this is a tool to start PoP (Atari ST version) on any level with any number of hitpoints. ...

Re: Settings window

Actually, any key exits the menu, except the arrows and enter. Yeah... this is probably not good behaviour, because it may be unexpected to suddenly have the menu close because you hit a random key. For now, I changed it so that only keys with the Ctrl modifier (e.g., Ctrl+R) get through. And I add...

Re: Settings window

Use 4:3 aspect ratio Use integer scaling I like how these instantly take effect. Escape also exits the pause menu (the original behaviour to advance the game by only one frame is disabled for now). Actually, any key exits the menu, except the arrows and enter. The way you handle the mouse coordinat...

Re: Apple II port to BBC Master computer

Thanks for the answers! This means that the background list has bust its limit so I need to increase this value. But the game doesn't crash when I enter the starting room from left or right. Why is it different when entering from the top? I want to say thank you again for your help playtesting the g...

Interestingly, the majority of recent spammers have Indian IP addresses.
I mentioned something similar back in my first post: viewtopic.php?p=22067#p22067
