Re: PoP videos / images

(This reminds me, there is a football player called van Persie .) 2126116783453f644b07521.gif Is this how they cook the food in the Prince of Persia restaurants ? :) can...

Why the sudden interest?

It seems that there were more PoP-remakes in the past few years than before that. Why the (seemingly) sudden interest in remaking PoP? FreePrince exists since at least 2003. And there were no other remake attempts for a long time. There were some fan-games in the PoPUW forum , but most of them don't...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

PS In the mod with ID 0000122 they also managed to edit the sword, making a shorter one with a different shape... do you know how they managed to do this? I would like to replace it with something totally transparent and maybe the final part of karateka's foot... The images of the sword are in PRIN...

Re: PoP1-Total Pack: New version development

Here is the program I made. (C source + Windows EXE) SNES_level_export_import.zip While making this, I also found a small bug in the compression algorithm of Pr1SnesLevEd: The "sequence of identical/increasing/decreasing bytes" cases skipped the last byte (i.e. the "count" was 1 ...

Re: PoP1-Total Pack: New version development

That is not even needed to achieve, all mods edited with David PR1Snes editor have uncompressed level data, only the original rom is the one that need to care about decompression. Not true, all PoP1 SNES mods have compressed level data. However, the editor can export/import levels to/from an uncomp...

Re: PoP2 developer's documentation

(Now the PDF is on PoPOT: https://www.popot.org/documentation.php?doc=OldDocuments ) From page 31: Guards’ Jumping Ability The guards can manage a two- or three-space running jump, but a four-space leap is too much for them. The guards don’t know how to grab onto the ledge. (Maybe they didn’t read t...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

Attached are some of the frames. Just screenshots for now. Not cut out or transparent yet, nor using the precise colors yet. If someone is interested: I figured out the format of Karateka (DOS) DAT files (in 2011). I can post the images and the extractor if someone wants. Done. (and/or write a spec...

Re: PoP1-Total Pack: New version development

(Norbert posted while I was writing...) 2. Issues - However, linking 'Foretable codes' with the filenames of sprites is quite a difficullt. (See the attachment #3 (Yellow area)) - Also, linking 'Background modifiers by group' with the filenames of sprites is quite a difficullt. (See the attachment #...

Re: How to compile SDLPoP

Maybe I should change it so that it uses linker from C:\MinGW32\bin but I can't find where you can change this. You can do that at: Tools -> Compiler Options -> Programs. These are handled separately for each compiler set you can select at the top of the window. Why do you have two linkers? Or a Mi...

Re: How to compile SDLPoP

I have the file libSDL2.dll.a in C:\MinGW32\lib which is in the linker's library directory. And the linker can't find it there? That's odd. (I see the gcc command line contains both -L"C:/MinGW32/lib" and -l"SDL2.dll".) Did you extract the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of SDL2? I...

Re: Random off-topic stuff

I really want to try this. Unfortunately I think it will be some time before I get around to buying a Vive. Maybe I should just wait for the second generation... Not entirely unrelated: how great would it be if somebody found a way to make the hyperbolic time chamber possible. How exactly are these...

Re: Mod: Secrets of the Citadel

I have a problem, i can't finish level 1... and the potions are empty ? Is that normal/possible or I'm stupid ? ^^ And visibly I play with SDLPop... Yes, it's an empty potion. I don't know why is it there... Maybe to annoy players when they want to make a single step? Help for room on first picture...
