Re: Math problems

Why is 13 showing up twice important? Number of house can be any. The asker in the puzzle says "I knew the number but still couldn’t calculate their ages.". This means that knowing the sum still does not pick a single age combination. Here are the possible sums: 1 + 1 + 36 = 38 1 + 2 + 18...

Code formatting

From http://forum.princed.org/viewtopic.php?p=21471#p21471 : I looked through the SDLPoP sources. Indentation is mostly done using tabs, but there are a few places that use spaces. I guess I should fix that. This is what I have now: https://github.com/NagyD/SDLPoP/commits/fix-identation (separate br...

Norbert wrote:Also, what you did will never work anyway. You used hard tabs for (mid-line) alignment.

Ah, yes. So I inadvertently posted another argument against using tabs for alignment. :)

Re: Math problems

Here is another similar problem: https://www.teamten.com/lawrence/puzzles/daughters.html Here is my solution: Puzzle: A man in my neighborhood has three daughters. One day when I asked their ages he said, “The product of their ages is 36.” The possible age combinations: 1,1,36; 1,2,18; 1,3,12; 1,4,...

Re: Code Indentation: Tabs Versus Spaces

Interesting. Are you planning similar documents about other aspects of coding style? :) Btw, in the list of "programming languages that use whitespace to determine functionality" (last page), you should add Python. I looked through the SDLPoP sources. Indentation is mostly done using tabs,...

Um, you could use the % (modulo) operator instead...

Anyway, writing a program for this seems to be overkill. :)

Re: Math problems

however, I'm still interested in relearning a few things that I've missed in math class because I was young and uninterested back than, or the things that I haven't fully understood. Well, as they say, better late then never. :) If anyone is interested, I have one more task. This one might be more ...

Re: POPSnes Dev - Extended game

Sorry a little mistake i made with buttons, now i have fixed, still need to be improved. Replays can get desync. I still can't get replays to work... Oh wait, do I have to press File->Reset in the Replay window first? It's "desync" indeed, because the replay file does not contain any timi...

Re: Math problems

(Say, is this your homework or something?) One is integration problem. Given the function values, how would you determine the function, and how would you calculate the grey surface area using calculus. (I know it's an obvious circle, but I need calculus method). To get the function, you need the equ...

Re: Some funny sounds

PoPUW's problems page now has a section about using Munt with DOSBox: http://popuw.com/problems.html
NOTE: The original ROM code of the MT-32 is in the public domain and can be freely used and distributed.

Is that really so?
