Re: Random off-topic stuff

It's (an image of) Surak. The parenthesized part reminds me of "Ceci n'est pas une pipe." . :) For future reference, here are the two actors who have portrayed adult Spock. If you see another actor as a Vulcan , it's (most likely) not Spock. Dunno, but I find it hard to notice the differe...

Hidden similarities between PoP1 and PoP2

Did you know? Both PoP1 and PoP2 have a sword that you can't pick up (for different reasons), *and* both have it on level 12! I don't know if the level number is intentionally the same. Re: Various

It looks like PoP was the first game that had pressure plates: https://www.giantbomb.com/pressure-plate/3055-2427/ (scroll down) Also, look at the last of the images about the topic: https://www.giantbomb.com/pressure-plate/3055-2427/images/ (That site looks like a TV Tropes clone for video games, b...

Re: Why the sudden interest?

Wow, I didn't know someone will have an answer... :) 1) Computers are everywhere nowadays. Gaming and using the Internet are regular activities. Right, but I think this began before 2011? 2b) Several things have brought back interest in Indie(-like) and old school games. [...] The whole Kickstarter ...

License in Readme

Do you think I should extend the License section of SDLPoP's Readme like it's done in Apoplexy? You know, noting the copyrights of images and other things that are not made by me? Also, I think I should update the copyright year from 2015(!) to 2017... Done: https://github.com/NagyD/SDLPoP/commit/e1...

Re: PoP1 SEGA Genesis format documentation

Apoplexy does not display level names for PoP2 DOS and PoP1 SNES, only the names of level types.
Why was it important for the Genesis version?

Why the sudden interest?

It seems that there were more PoP-remakes in the past few years than before that. Why the (seemingly) sudden interest in remaking PoP? FreePrince exists since at least 2003. And there were no other remake attempts for a long time. There were some fan-games in the PoPUW forum , but most of them don't...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

PS In the mod with ID 0000122 they also managed to edit the sword, making a shorter one with a different shape... do you know how they managed to do this? I would like to replace it with something totally transparent and maybe the final part of karateka's foot... The images of the sword are in PRIN...

Re: PoP1-Total Pack: New version development

Here is the program I made. (C source + Windows EXE) SNES_level_export_import.zip While making this, I also found a small bug in the compression algorithm of Pr1SnesLevEd: The "sequence of identical/increasing/decreasing bytes" cases skipped the last byte (i.e. the "count" was 1 ...

Re: PoP1-Total Pack: New version development

That is not even needed to achieve, all mods edited with David PR1Snes editor have uncompressed level data, only the original rom is the one that need to care about decompression. Not true, all PoP1 SNES mods have compressed level data. However, the editor can export/import levels to/from an uncomp...
