Re: Karateka of Persia?

Hi everyone, in PoP1, do you know exactly which files correspond to which moves ? For example, which moves do correspond to running? I guess the following files are involved: res401.png, res402.png, ...., res413.png, res414.png But how can I know in which order and if there is some loop? (for exampl...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

Great news! :-) I am using Linux and I have found a great package called ImageMagick to automatically modify all the files generated automatically using David's scripts in order to adapt them to the PoP1 graphics! More precisely (I have just tested it!), using the "convert" command I can d...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

PS I got this after playing a little bit with the files automatically generated by David's scripts.... I will start thinking more seriously about this from April :-) PS In the mod with ID 0000122 they also managed to edit the sword, making a shorter one with a different shape... do you know how they...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

Many thanks David! This topic is becoming very supportive for who may be interested in doing the mod at the end (including me!), it's becoming a very nice tutorial with all the explanations and many files provided! Thanks a lot, i like this community! PS other things in common between Karateka and P...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

Many thanks for this Norbert! :) Seeing Karateka waliking inside the PoP rooms is already a great emotion for me, so grateful! :) Then you think I should not try to do it during my free time? (which would start in the first days of April unfortunately...) What about the people who modified the kid a...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

That is so great, thanks again!! Regarding the "athletic" movements, that is climbing or jumping... Karateka only climbs once, at the very beginning of the game, but I think it is useless to capture that climbing because the mountain wall hides the first part of the climbing and you see on...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

Wow Norbert, this is wonderful!! :) I am so grateful for this starting contribute! Then now it should be cut and part of the leg should be put in the sword file, right? I think the middle kick is perfect to replace the attack with sword, because they look very similar! To replace the defense with sw...

Re: Karateka of Persia?

Hi Norbert, many thanks for your reply! I am happy that you find this interesting, and I acknowledge that it may be difficult as you say. The PR program would be needed to edit the images, right? I tried to use its import/export functionalities, it looks very interesting. I think there are two possi...

Karateka of Persia?

Hi guys! I am Andrea and, since I was born in 1982 I started playing videogames very early. I think PoP1 is my favorite game, even if compared with the super realistic games used nowadays.... But before playing PoP1, when I was still 6-8 years old, I was playing Karateka, another videogame from Mech...

Re: popot.org

I think maybe the option to use
secret
could be added to create something similar to this forum's secret I've added something similar to popot.org. You can see it in action here , in one of the comments by endriuw. Move your mouse on the gray area there. Of course, Total Pack and...

Re: popot.org

I'm currently working on something else though, so it'll have to wait. But I'll add it to my growing TODO list. Many thanks Norbert, this would be wonderful! In fact, usually I look at those comments in each mod's page because I like to see "reviews" of a mod to understand which ones I sh...
