Re: Prince of Persia Collection Limited Edition [536 MB]
BTW, I found SNDDRVRS folder under Prince1 containing DSB_PRO.DRV MSB_PRO.DRV and PRESET33.DEF files. SNDDRVRS seems to be sound driver, and files are useless in MS-DOS mode when setup.exe selected this folder showing Sound Blaster Pro and Other Drivers after selecting "Other Drivers", re...

SuavePrince, you can attach such small files with your posts themselves instead of uploading to a separate file host that may delete them due to inactivity.

Re: Prince of Persia Collection Limited Edition [536 MB]
And no sounds gotten during the play for this time no sound drivers gotten for MS-DOS ! If you have any clue to solve these problems, it would be very much appreciated. You'll have to locate real-mode DOS drivers for your sound card of course. If you have an integrated audio chip on the motherboard...

^That's like explaining a joke and ruining it! Seeing just the portion David presented was much more fun, leading one to imagine some overzealous censor deleting 'objectionable' words, even if they're simply part of bigger ones.

Re: Prince of Persia Collection Limited Edition [536 MB]
I tried USB-joystick in MS-DOS mode of Windoes98 SE. I installed joystick driver in W98SE, then restart W98 as MS-DOS mode. Launching prince.exe from MS-DOS, the program DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE USB-JOYSTICK hooked up to USB-Port. Maybe joystick driver for MS-DOS is another thing, thinking that is sim...

Re: Fixing Pop 3d
Anyway, the pop3dDutch is .exe file that cannot run on 64 bit system. Is there anyone here who can edit the file and force it to start on 64 bit system, so we can at least be able to complete the game? 32-bit EXEs can run on 64-bit Windows, but not vice versa. What happens exactly when you run the ...

Re: SNES music format
And a MIDI player that can use custom SoundFonts. As soon as I find one... From the SDLPoP thread : how about using something like FluidSynth , FMOD Ex , DUMB , BASS/BASSMIDI etc.? Then we can have (with something like BASSMIDI for example) support for MP3, MP2, MP1, OGG, WAV, AIFF, MOD music (XM, ...

Or perhaps bundle an appropriate SoundFont along with the MIDI.David wrote:The way to fix this would be to convert to a Module file instead of MIDI.
Unlike MIDI files, those files also contain the sound samples of instruments.

- Alternatively, download "The Ultimate Collection" via Andrew's signature and use PoP1_10/Prince.exe. (This file doesn't have all resources enabled, but apoplexy will automatically unpack the executable and enable all resources.) Just to add to this, that file is the original untouched P...

Re: Manuals of various versions
I see your opinion on these is different from those on DRM . Yes, it is (DRM's a whole different beast altogether). When the copy-protection mechanism is not onerous such that I as a paying customer am ill-treated, or worse even harmful to my system like Sony's rootkit, I don't have a real problem ...

Re: Manuals of various versions
Contrast this with the reference to the protection system in the MININIM manual While I do think FOSS is great and that the Spanish manual's admonitions were way over the top, I have no problem whatsoever with PoP 1 and 2 employing such common copy-protection measures back in the day. Well, one man...
